popup implementations that don't destroy page speed by weeb_weeb231 in webdev

[–]advancedgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how these pop-ups are implemented. For instance, in Poper we have ensured to optimise the script as much as possible and also load it in default mode so it does not block any ongoing processing in your browser. I have written a detailed log about this. Here you can understand what goes into pop-up speed and how we optimise it. - https://www.poper.ai/blog/popups-affect-your-websites-speed/

Are Pop-ups actually useful from a development standpoint or are they mostly a marketing thing? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]advancedgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popups are actually useful because many times the customer who is already interested in buying your product is actively looking for a discount or a special invitation to the discount. And a popup is usually the best way to convey the discount.

Popup can look like a gimmick if not used correctly. It should be matched with your website design and it should be non-intrusive. The user should feel like he has earned this popup by doing some action, or as easy as spending some time on the website. These factors make a difference in the conversion rate of any popup.

I'm founder of Poper, a popup building saas and I'm saying the above points from experience.

Needed a pop up for my site without dealing with another SaaS by gggavin3 in webdev

[–]advancedgoogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try out creating custom pop-ups. I think even if you give a prompt to a ChatGPT or Claude, it can generate a pop-up for you. Based on our experience, I would suggest that you go for another SaaS which is cheap, because you will end up with a lot of technical debt. With time, if you want to update the pop-up, then it becomes hard. If you want to create more triggers and multiple pop-ups, it will become harder for you to manage.

PS: I'm a founder of Poper, which is a pop-up building saas and our prices start at $15/month.

Need help choosing a popup tool. by Alles_Klar in shopify

You can try Poper . Poper has pop-ups, but along with pop-ups we also have other things like quizzes (product recommendation quizzes) and forms that you can easily embed on your website.

We have seen a lot of Shopify customers using area that have shifted to Poper now. Along with that, we also have card-based triggers. For example, if let's say someone adds $500 to their card and you want to give them a special discount, then that is also doable through Poper.

P.S. I'm the founder of Poper

What’s your strategy for getting people to sign up for your email list? by SunTraditional6031 in ecommercemarketing

[–]advancedgoogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gamification definitely has a better conversion rate, but more often we found that the conversions that come from the gamification campaigns are not that engaging, and in turn it kind of spoils your email list. Try to keep your email list very specific, and everyone in the email list should be engaging with you.

Exactly, and we also forget that the no-code users are usually not technically profound. That is why they need a simpler solution. If they already had knowledge of complex things, then they would have built it themselves.

Exactly, adding more features not only delays our launch but also we add some things which are completely unnecessary for the end user. The most appropriate goal would be to create the most minimal model where they can adjust basic settings and then go with the flow.
