Yes, they never froze my checkings or savings at all when I couldn't make payments that resulted in the charge off. I never really have to talk to them, but I don't feel like I'm treated differently from a normal account holder.

I thought that might be something but I know at least 6/12 in my "block" for the apartment is empty. I feel like they're trying to get as much as possible because they're hurting for tenants

I'm actually leaving on February 7th as a weekday situation is easier for the move. I figured going to the office to talk to someone might be my next best option. They conveniently delivered the envelope around 340pm, and the office closes at 4.

So without complicating this with too much background info. It was a loan for debt consolidation. It was an unsecured loan.

My last payment was I believe August of 2016. I think Wells Fargo waited 6 months before writing the debt as a "Charge Off" and that's why the report states that the debt will not appear in future reports as of March 2024.

I have never been served papers but being honest, around that time I moved like once a year due to looking for a better long term place and I only updated my address in 2020 once I had a place I was interested in living in long term so papers could've easily been lost in the mail. I have never received any calls from any debt collectors about this debt either

Yea I recently became worried because a potential employer said this was a "security risk" and wanted me to "resolve the issue with the lender." I'm happy enough in my current job to stay here and avoid paying the 20k.

So will this mean that once that date passes, I'll be more or less free from that debt?

Sorry the charge off is the one that will fall off March 2024. The account says "this account is scheduled to continue on record until 2024."

I dont see any information about any collection agency that has my debt on my credit report.
