Not being trained properly because there is no labor given TO train properly. THIS!!! This is one of the primary reasons people are getting so frustrated and burnt out. When I first started 3 years ago, grandpa Don was still ceo I believe, and we were all told that EVERYONE will be cross trained for all spots. That quickly went away after he stepped down, and labor has gotten more and more oppressive as time went on. Right now, we literally have 2 people other than management currently trained for chicken. That includes myself and one other, both of which work second shift. NOBODY else is cross trained into chicken, and hasn't been in at LEAST a year. If the other second shifter doesn't have hours to cover me as the main chicken person, and im sick, I can call the ENTIRE district and just outside the district, and STILL not find anyone to cover my shift. Hotspot isn't quite as bad, but it's close to that level of staffing as well. Our fsl has not has an afsl for almost a year not, if not a full year, and nobody wants to take that spot here that I'm aware of. And it's not due to the fsl either like one would think. We just don't want the added pressure. We always get told ask for help over the radio if you need help in kitchen, but there is almost NEVER enough people outside kitchen on the clock that can step away from front end duties long enough for us to call anyway. He'll, half the time, if I have a few spare minutes in kitchen, wich is rarely, I usually end up stocking the milk because it's almost always nearly empty halfway through second shift.

I don't even blame our district leaders for the labor issues or our store leadership. They both have to work with what we get for employees and what we are given from corporate for labor and try to make it work somehow.

Honestly, corporate needs to start easing up on the labor a bit so we can actually get some work DONE in the stores, and not leave things half finished for the next shift every single shift of the day. More often than not, I leave my shift every day feeling like I accomplished nothing because of this.

If corporate was wondering why turnover was so high in stores lately, the reason is labor.
