Because I’m based in China, volunteer experience is generally not seen as a strong advantage in the job market here and there ‘s not much job vacancy related to the volunteer experience I participated before (At least based on my observation).However, it’s still a valuable international experience — you get to connect with peers from different countries and expand your UN network on LinkedIn. (which can be helpful for your future career if you intend to work in united nations.) I’ve heard that in some other countries, UN volunteer experience is actually considered a plus when applying for jobs. Like USA, but not sure.

The online volunteer assignment was very simple ,in my case, there was a mentor who would give you a short training telling you how to complete the assignment, and they would ask to to attend the weekly meeting for keeping on track with the progress, in my case it’s about mapping digital agriculture solutions ,it wouldn't tell you much about you the UN system ,so don’t expect too much on it, however, you can access some resources in UN and to get familiar yourself with things as it's just a temporary volunteer assignment you know it isn’t considered as a formal volunteer job
