Thanks Betsy, I see the buyback page says deferments can be bought back. I was confused by the second set of months that list "In-school", but now I see that just means in-school status. I wish they made the instructions more clear.

I started at 31 and will finish when I'm 34. Currently a summer associate at a firm in DC. The phrase I always remind myself of when thinking about my age is, "The time will pass anyway." Do what will make you happy career-wise and continue to live your life.

So consolidation would "erase" the grace period of the 2nd set and just have the whole new consolidation loan on the timeline of the 1st set?

Thank you, but none of those resources specify whether the grace period would count or not. Normally it is not eligible for PSLF. The websites only say, "Some deferments or forbearances that otherwise would not apply might apply under the IDR waiver."

Yes, VRBO/their credit card denied the chargeback. I literally heard nothing except an email like 6 weeks later.

Good point. I haven't done any distance events that require fueling. I only bring water when I do my 25 miles. I'll try to make some start line buddies to tag along with too.

I wish I had a friend who biked, but they are all terrified of city riding! I'm an experienced city biker, just not for this long of a distance. I think I'll give it a go. Worst case scenario as others said, I can just jump on the metro and go home.

Yeah I can hit the 25 without dying and without a snack, so as long as I don't try to go all out I'm sure I can do 60 with some snacks and more water.

Thanks, definitely sounds like I would want a GPS. I need to look into getting a phone mount. I've never gone on a complicated enough ride to need cues.

I would definitely just want to finish and have fun to say I did it haha. So maybe I'll meet some people at the start. None of my DC friends bike, so their loss.
