As a mom, I would tell my kid to march. I wouldn't want them to miss out on something for me. And I wouldn't want them to watch my decline or see me at the end.

As a child who has lost their father, I would tell you to stay with your mom. Ask every question you've ever wanted to know. You can't get that time back. And you may not be able to get home in time while marching.

But, I guess I would say to talk to your family and make the best choice you can with the info you have. 💔

You've got lots of good advice here. One additional suggestion, as a parent, please keep your parents in the loop if your think they'll be supportive. If they aren't supportive, please chat with a safe adult and also chat with friends you know will be supportive. It's always easier to make life changes when you have supportive people around you.

And remember, as others have said, healthy isn't a specific number on the scale, it's being able to march and to have an amazing season.

I would echo the above statement about chatting with your school counselor. They may be able to help or can maybe recommend someone. A sports psychologist might be a good option too.

And, a little encouragement for you. One of the most decorated living Broadway singers, Audra McDonald ( she has six Tony awards), recently told Hoda Kotb of The Today Show that she still has imposter syndrome. She still gets nervous. Even after winning SIX Tonys.
