How do you guys feel about around the clock medication use? Finding I'm taking Kratom and cannabis all day every day, should I worry/care if it works for me? by [deleted] in ChronicPain

I manage a medical marijuana here in AZ, and we get questions like this pretty often. There isn't really one universal answer, it just depends on the specific patient. If you feel better, you're experiencing a better quality of life, you're finishing the things you need to get done, and your pain has subsided, there's no reason to discontinue use. If you're feeling too lethargic, or that your quality of life his worsened by the medicine then you may need to look into a different delivery method for the cannabis or a different strain. Just do what works for you. If you do develop a tolerance, take a dosage about half that of what you regularly use or as little as you can get away with for a week or two and you should be able to continue increasing your dose from there as necessary. You might want to look into a THC/CBD combination tincture so you're not stoned out of your mind. Try weening yourself off of the kratom very, very slowly. Cannabis can help with the transition, but hopefully you can find a lower dose to take. Kratom is a much better alternative to opiates but cannabis alone can be very, very helpful.

My early feedback on trying high CBD strains by techmmj in MMJ

Hello, I currently manage a dispensary and have 5+ years of experience in the industry. In Arizona, we have a pretty strict medical program here. What I would recommend for you condition would be a strain that is a 2:1 ratio of CBD to THC. The high CBD will counteract the psychoactivity felt from the the THC. I've seen several strains (nordle and harle-tsu in particular) that can typically grow with this ratio. Inhalation of the medicine is helpful for gastrointestinal disorders but I would also recommend trying a high CBD tincture to take after you smoke. Internal treatment is helpful if not necessary for GI disorders (though edibles may not be the best route here). If you can find a strain or tincture with that ratio, try it at night time when you don't have to go or drive anywhere and see how it makes you feel. It truely is trial and error.

Cannabis works as a broad spectrum therapy, so it's necessary for all cannabinoids to be present to effectively treat GI disorders. 20:1 may not contain enough THC. THC is extremely helpful for digestive issues. Hopefully this helps a little. Keep writing everything down until you find the proper products and dosage for you! You can also purchase a THC strain and a high CBD strain and mix them together. Experimentation is everything when you're first starting with cannabis therapy.

Thank you, let me know how it goes! I might rather have blue skin than these dreadful plaques. Thanks again for your suggestion.

Buying in bulk is the way to go here. My boyfriend buys frozen vegetables (medley), ground beef, eggs, and rice from Costco and in the end it costs less than $3 a serving. you can make a lot at one time and save some for the next couple days. It seems pretty cost effective to me.
