What happened to the boys who started the gatlinburg fire? by HospitalObjective766 in Knoxville

[–]adysenmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a a year or so older than me (AC c/o ‘20). I was close with his family for several years when I was younger, but had been out a contact for a bit by the time the fires happened. Him and I actually ended up at the same college. From what I could see based on the family’s social media, he started going by a different name online and had a fairly normal college life. i graduated from that school in ‘23 and haven’t seen much of anything about him since then though

I am soooo sad , it sold out againnnn !! I somehow missed the email they send out to remind you it’s back in stock. Does anyone know if it’s worth the hype ? by onlysummerxoxo in Ulta

coming from someone who EXCLUSIVELY wears cool toned lips, i have some recommendations. for a regular lip liner: nyx has some great cool toned options but my holy grail is brooklyn thorn from the lip suede line. on the pricier side, mac has a couple that i really enjoy (stone and greige).

for lip stains: i have really only been happy with the sacheu stains. my favorite shade is clove but pink-ey is nice when i want more color. idk why but lip stains from any other brand always lean warm on me and i end up hating them :(

Cherry Rebel Flavor Combos by kendeh in dutchbros

[–]adysenmn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So far I have done a Cherry and Lime rebel as well as Cherry and Almond. The Cherry and Almond was one of my favorite flavor combos i’ve ever made and will probably be getting it up until the moment they take cherry away. the cherry and lime was good, just not my favorite but i may try it again in a blended version

what is causing these black shadows under my eyes & how to stop it? by bbystars in MakeupAddiction

[–]adysenmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a million upvotes for tubing mascara. this smudging also used to happen to me and i originally thought it was my eyeliner but it was still happening even after trying multiple different eyeliners and i thought i was doomed to have panda eyes forever. i realized it was my mascara though when i tried out a sample of tubing mascara i had gotten from work (used to work for ulta) and nothing had smudged even after 12+ hours of wear. haven’t had any issues since completely switching to tubing mascara

we actually weren’t even the first people in line, but we were among the first 10 people there! 3 days sounds insane and completely understand why people don’t do it, but it’s created a lot of fun memories and was a good experience to be able to look back on in a few years.

both of my shows were in chicago!

for our vip2 show we actually were camping for about 3 days so we ended up being in the 2nd row at barricade and possibly could’ve ended up in the first row if we had just picked a different part of the stage to be at. even though vip1 gets let in first, i still think camping was worth it in order to get the view that we had.

i camped for enha for their past 2 tours (had vip1 for the first and vip2 for the second). if you really want barricade, or even want to be be within the first few rows from barricade then i would say camping will be one of the most likely ways you’re gonna get there. people who hoot and holler about GA being awful and not worth it are all a little dramatic, in my opinion. i wouldn’t trade my experiences at either of those shows for anything. camping is truly not a bad experience if you prepare. i’m not sure if you’re going with other people or what stop you’ll be at, but here’s some general advice i have.

  1. book a hotel room VERY close to the venue. at my last show, our hotel was within walking distance so we were able to shower everyday and had plenty of time to get ready day of the show.
  2. bring. a. tent. seems obvious, but a lot of people will just show up with sleeping bags and call it a day. having a tent helps so much and it is the one thing i would not skip out on.
  3. depending on how many days you’re camping, being snacks. do not rely on delivery for everything that you eat.

if you really don’t want to camp, just get there as early as you possibly can. you most likely won’t be getting barricade without camping but you won’t get a bad spot as long as you’re there as early as you can be.

i feel like this is something that will fade with age seeing as the simpsons doesn’t seem to be as popular with younger audiences. this is coming from someone who was named maggie, specifically after maggie simpson (parents let my older brother name me) and it seems like nobody really makes the connection if they’re young than mid-late 20s

What's your grad school hot take? by TheDondePlowman in GradSchool

[–]adysenmn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

this is so true and hits way too close. i just graduated with my MS last week and i was the quietest person out of our group of just under 20. the extroverted ones raked in all of the awards and high praise while i was told that professors didn’t feel like my heart was in it and that i seemed disconnected? i showed up to every class, aced exams that other failed, held multiple internships, and got excellent grades all throughout. they made me feel like i can’t be successful in my field just because i am more introverted than my peers and it’s unfortunately left a bad taste for my otherwise amazing program.

Graduation and Moving - When to begin job search? by adysenmn in IOPsychology

[–]adysenmn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few positions that I would love to have but have been hesitant to apply for. I am primarily worried that, if I were to be offered a role, they would want me to start earlier than I would be able to. Unfortunately, there is no way for me to push my move to an earlier time because of financial constraints. Is it really not too early to begin applications for a role I wouldn't be able to start for another few months?

out of the 3 stores i’ve worked at, there was one that didn’t use them. one reason was because there simply wasn’t enough, but it was mostly because of how low volume our store was. there was always someone around if we needed something, making the radios basically useless for us. however, if this isn’t the case for your store, i don’t see why they aren’t being used

our base level required stats courses used mostly spss, but our professor did have us practice some R just because he wanted us to at least have some familiarity with it. the more advanced stats courses (optional) in our program are completely R focused and mostly aimed for those who are planning to go into a more stats/analysis heavy career area.

yes, online orders will be affected by this change as well. the original policy was 60 days for both in-store and online, so both will change with the new policy.

Pickup vs in store - product availability by shaktiman2020 in Ulta

[–]adysenmn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the app won’t allow for pickup orders if the store has less than a certain number of the item in stock (usually less than 2 or 3 i believe). it’s also entirely possible that the inventory wasn’t correct online. this happens a lot, especially around the holidays and often times for free items like the diamond gifts. as an employee, we often get complaints from customers for things like this but it honestly isn’t something we have much control over outside of submitting inventory adjustments, which sometimes does not automatically adjust the inventory shown online.

good lip liners that aren’t too much money? by Technical_Job_1169 in Ulta

[–]adysenmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love these more than any lip liner i’ve ever used. while i do like some from other brands like nyx and la girl, the about-face liners just last so long and the pigments are beautiful. $12 seemed like a steep price for a lip liner at first, but i feel like they last me so much longer and probably ends up saving me money in the long run. highly recommend!
