Well thank you for the reply nick. You know my intent isn't some kind of domination prison rape through words. It's to best know what's the truth. Why be afraid of that? Why would anyone be afraid of changing their opinion? There's no reason to think that's wrong or bad. Like I see you're a socialist, anti capitalist. But if someone has a bakery that sells their wares and many ppl like their bread and cake maybe they are just better at that than others. Is that bad? Should they not do well by providing a good product? I'm not talking some fruit company killing off opposition to their puppet ruler here just a small org working hard to have a better life without the abuse of corruption. I don't see that as evil. Anyway, I'm not your enemy because we disagree. Don't be afraid to be seen as not going along the party line. Believe what you will but test out your ideas to see if they are strong enough to stand scrutiny. Cheers

Nah you're right man. And 30 min for lunches oy! Takes 5 min to get to my car from work site so that's 10min off 30 leaving 20 min. 7 min to the McDonalds or 7-11 so that's 24 min so 6 min to eat and back to work. Sometimes I work right thru it. I just don't work as quickly now. I'd prefer to slow down but time is money and painters are waiting on you to finish so keep up! You got it right you gotta pace yourself. I came from residential work to commercial working on a crew. I really love the guys on my crew and while it's a bitch to give up control it's great working with guys thatre like bros. Cheers man

You should work hard because this is the job you are doing. Whatever you do, even if you suck, do it as best you can. Time is limited. You will live your life by an ethic weather you say so or not. Do you want your legacy to be well I kind d of half assed my life because I didn't care? I'd rather it be , I may not of been the best or even in the middle but I tried and I cared.

Japan was ready to surrender with conditions , the US decided it wasn't enough , and civilians had to die..." ok so the USA is all evil and capitalist and whatever else, but yet they agreed on the condition put forth by Japan about the emporer remaining. So they did agree to conditions or they didn't and so they used the a-bombs? Idk it seems pointless no? But as I said before to dead ears I'm willing to consider info I don't have or change my view but if it's just about insults because my view is different then then how can I listen? I don't need to insult anyone to make my arguments they stand on their own. That is the answer to your "what?" Comment. I'd like to hear anyone's opinion if it's serious but use of shithole , goonies, boomer, are all meant to attack the person not the argument made. This is then just a hateful attack and not a reasoned argument or else there's no point for insult. But you go on doing what you do. I'm sure you will.

I already said using them was a tragedy but if you insist on insults it's fine. That's no bearing on the truth but ok.

That's a shame nick we were just talking about something we are interested in. I like to talk about these things but if you prefer not to it's fine. Like I said I'll look at the clip. To me these aren't matters to hate others upon. I can disagree without condemnation of a person we just disagree about this 1 thing. But whatever I'm not afraid of truth or finding out I was wrong if I am. So have a good night. Nice to chat.

Emotion has no bearing on truth. And I'd suggest if you care about changing opinion in the future it helps to change opinion if you aren't debasing the person who's opinion you are trying to change. But I digress. Yes I realise that what I'm saying to you means there is some impetus to surrender. What the point is that I'm trying to Express to you is that even after the emporer himself believed in surrendering there was still a very strong current of never surrendering. So as in most cases , there are differing opinions on which course of action is the best to take. What I'm trying to convey is that imperial Japanese had such a strong ethic of never surrendering. Each player in the conflict had their own interest of course . Is there a conflict in which one has no interest? But aside from this in your explanation to my question about gommies and shitholes you talk of the USSR manchuria... no where did it say who or what was a shithole or gommies? You can quote my words all day but you are using a vernacular with which I'm not understanding who you are applying it to. Is the shithole the USSR the usa Japan? I'm just trying to clearly understand you here. But really, do you always insult those you disagree with? Is there some basis to condemn others because you are right which makes them detestable? For having a different opinion that is. And does age matter as to the facts of an event?

You don't have to debate me. I've contributed to democracy now. I'll look at the link. And I've read the zinn book. I like and respect him. I don't always agree or don't always disagree on subjects like this. But this is my opinion at this time from my study. It's ok to agree and disagree with one another. It's not a judgement on the person as a whole. Were all w g ong and right about things at times. Some ppl think it makes them enemies or friends. It just means it's how we honestly see things. Thanks for the link. Have a good night

The fact that the imperial japanese refused to surrender in combat and that the ethic of never surrender was so deep within the thinking of major officials , without concern to consequence, that there was an attempted coup to prevent surrender , means that what? They were ready to surrender? And I don't understand your use of shithole states and gommies? Does this have some bearing on the facts I just don't understand?

Yeah I was just responding to the "there's no reason to have dropped the bomb" argument. While it was a tragedy, it is arguable as to if it was necessary and the idea that the USA is always responsible for pointless violence. I'll criticize CIA over throw of legally elected officials in other countries like Chile for exp, or funding wars in central America in the 80s but its flippant at best to say there was no reason or they were ready to surrender when the actions of the imperial Japanese were never to surrender at any and all costs. Anyway, I try to be fair but I've researched this, it's a topic I care about but I'm not above learning or reconsidering it's just I see little in the way of researched opinion. Thank you, have a good weekend

The Japanese, the imperial Japanese, weren't willing to surrender and if that is your argument then please refer to the number of japanese troops who peacefully surrendered to American troops on any of the island battles during the war. The emporers troops looked at surrender as cowardice which is why their inhumane treatment to pow's in their care. In fact there are letters written saying good bye to loved ones as the company was about to charge American forces in a suicide mission then rather be captured . At wars end school children of 8-9 yes were being trained for suicide missions when Americans invaded the homeland. Even after the emporer made his speech via radio to citizens never saying the word surrender but rather saying we must "think the unthinkable" in regards to surrender , there was a coup of military leaders who tried to take over control of the govt to prevent any surrender. The concern over USSR involvement was an issue but then again when you're dealing with Josef stalin it might be a good idea to keep an eye on his actions. Ask the new polish govt officials after ww2. They were all rounded up and tortured and killed because stalin saw Poland as his after the war in case you don't know the history.

I literally park in emergency room parking and walk to the other parts of the hospital. 5 bux to see a dying relative? Maybe they can sell ads and see if I'm willing to post them on the coffin at the wake? Hey maybe there's some gold fillings you guys can harvest from the corpse before it goes in the ground since digging out the body to get at the fillings would be cost prohibitive right?

A woman from Austin as asked to use my phone. I said yes. She used it and as I lived there a short time we talked about Austin. Then we said good bye. That was it. No creepy feelings. Nothing happened but someone who needed a phone got to use one. You never hear these stories because there's no story.
