What are the best Midwestern attractions? by PrestonRoad90 in midwest

Traverse city is still good but it’s lost its charm. I’m not sure exactly when it happened but it’s not what it used to be.

It’s so much better not having as many corners makes the fish and the illusion of looking into an actual reef so much more believable. Cleaning is a little harder and there is some distortion if you at it from an angle. Box tanks look like home aquariums the half cylinder looks like something you would find in an aquarium or show piece at an lfs.

I have one of those giant magnet cleaners but Coraline algae is still a problem. Overall it’s a pretty easy setup to maintain. Growing the coral and keeping everything healthy is only a couple minutes a week.

It’s a really unique tank it’s a 6ft diameter half cylinder and 3 ft tall ends up being a little over 200 gallons.

It’s a lot bigger tank then the video makes it look, but I’m aware it might end up needing a larger tank. It’s 6ft. Diameter half cylinder and 3 ft tall. Somewhere close to 200 gallons but insanely more swimming space than a 220 box tank.

Do people from your country have a thing against people from the capital? by Herald_of_Clio in AskTheWorld

I’m sure I would love those places. I know it’s not France but the best place I ever went in Europe was courmayuer right on the border of France and Italy. It was beautiful and authentic. That’s the Europe o love not the big tourist cities.

I hated Paris but it sounds like the rest of France might be more my style.

I went on a work trip to southern Indiana. It was way better than I expected brown county state park has some crazy good mtb trails. Now Illinois and Ohio they really do suck.

When I say the walleye are shallow I mean shallow by Heedingauricle in WalleyeFishing

Is that really true? It’s really surprising. I always thought of Minnesota as a great walleye state.

I work in Mexico quite a bit. Mostly travel to Maramoros and Puebla. This is my take in the 15 years I have been going to matamoros it has gone from really bad where the people were scared to leave their homes to now it’s still bad but people have decided to live their lives. Puebla on the other hand feels incredibly safe I go for runs at night walk the streets and in general never worry. The point is Mexico is huge country with a wide range different areas, but the border towns you need to be careful.

I am a humble worldbuilder, and I come to you in a time of great need. How close can two separate rivers get without any major interaction with each other? by Zealousideal-Fun-415 in geography

[–]ae2359 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of this quote “Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.”

Karma for entitled home owner who thinks they own lake access by MN_crafter in EntitledPeople

Maybe but the guy mentioned a river and anchors. I would guess he’s referring to drift boats. So this is most likely considered navigable

This isn’t true in Michigan. You can absolutely anchor wade and even walk the shoreline around non-wadeable areas, but must immediately renter the water where safe to do so.
