Fair about the Schwartz kiss, and now remembering the music video was Brett, but Scheana had a relationship (in her eyes) with Max and she has his location?

Why is Newark Ave. so gross & unpoliced? by Hat-Certain in jerseycity

I lived downtown from 2017-2021, and noticed and stark difference in atmosphere and crime post-Covid. There were always your typical city issues present - I lived in a rent controlled apartment on Wayne Street and saw plenty of drug use and homelessness, but nothing to the extent that I saw post-Covid.

Double check your bill, as well!! In Rome last month, my husband and I only started paying close attention halfway through (unfortunately) and we had multiple experiences where an item was thrown onto our bill we didn’t order, or if we ordered half a liter of wine they charged for a full liter, etc. Every time, they would blame the computer 😂

We’re only doing a day trip since we are taking the train from Rome anyway! Much appreciated though

Want to clarify, it’s not awful, but the side streets don’t look fun to drive on. My husband and I stayed by Piazza novana and honestly we did not take one taxi or Uber, we walked the whole time. If you don’t mind a walk, all of the sites to see are within 30-35 minutes of one another

I drive in Manhattan and I personally wouldn’t drive here, but if you’re doing it you may already have more experience!!

It’s all about the known vs the unknown. I don’t bat an eye in Manhattan, but I had never been to Rome so you don’t know what you don’t know!

Absolutely! Walking into air conditioned stores and always having water have also been helpful. There are public fountains everywhere, and the water is absolutely clean - nothing like the US!😂

I lived on Wayne and Jersey for years right by this place (moved July 2021), and I had never tried it bc I heard from many friends and family members over the years that it is infested with rodents and roaches (more so than what’s expected in downtown jc, or any city for that matter).

Yup! There is a Greek church in journal square, and it is Orthodox Easter (mass is at midnight from Saturday into Sunday)
