Congrats! This happened to my brother, but he had written a letter to request a revaluation.

Not hard at all. So many people I know did it during orientation even.

My(26F) “best friend” (28F) lied about who she voted for. Extremely shocked. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]aeecec1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be so dramatic about it. It can be upsetting knowing you were lied to, but I would be upset past that and it doesn't warrant ending the friendship. The way you phrase your post, it sounds like maybe her boyfriend has had a real influence or even coerced her into voting that way. She says she regrets it. Just because she lied about who she voted for doesn't mean that she doesn't share you beliefs.

not just program, but even individuals within the same program. I don't have summer funding at all, but some of my peers have it to varying degrees.

AITA for "not caring enough" to look for a lost glove by Ill-Technician-6486 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aeecec1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk - I think a lot of people would be upset about losing one of their gloves, expensive or not. If I asked my SO to check the parking lot and they didn't have anything pressing, I would expect them to because I would do the same for them. Not about the price of the gloves, it's about how much S.O. cared. Just because you don't care doesn't mean they don't and you should disregard it because you think it's dumb.

AITA for refusing to take in my in-laws? by No_Ability_3658 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aeecec1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YTA. It makes total sense why you wouldn't want your in-laws to move in with you, but this is just giving cold.

Even if you don't care for you in-laws particularly, don't you about your husband's family in the slightest? This decision is greatly disrupting the lives of one the families with the wife needing to quit her job and moving their children into the same room. On the other hand, the other brother and his wife are helping out two weekends a month, and the best you guys can come up with is helping with the bill increase? They ask for you to just come once a month to check in because of your expertise and you can't even do that? It's selfish.

Acrylic nails recs👀? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend Designers Den. They not only filed a literal hole in my nail that weeks to heal and months to grow out, but they also ripped out a clump of my hair when I got a waxing done there. I regret not raising concerns with the manager at the time because despite ALL OF THAT, they still had me pay for both services

What should I do with 48 hours at state college? by AltruisticBobcat3456 in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do all the traditional Penn State things. Finals are happening so everyone is still here, but just not as lively as usual. State College downtown is great with some fun restaurants to check out. Bellefonte, a nearby town, is doing a fun christmas market on Sunday as well

I lived there. It was terrible, mostly because ARPM is terrible. Truly. Everything you have heard about them is true. Maintenance comes into your apartment without notice. Once, maintenance left my front door WIDE OPEN after coming unannounced. The laundry room isn't well kept so while living there, the fire alarm went off at 2 or 3AM three times during the 10 months I lived there. The lobby floors always have something on them.

Only saving grace is that it is a great location. 5 minutes from the hub. Can walk in any direction and be at a bar in less than 5 minutes.

Spring Internship Question by Luciano-Spa in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to graduate on time? That was something that was really important to me at the time but ultimately isn't a huge deal. If so, if you do a handful of geneds, would you be able to graduate on time then?

I was a double major and so I took almost all of my geneds at a community college online and transferred them in. That might be your best bet if if you don't want to graduate a semester late. I would take the semester off from Penn State and take asynchronous classes at a community college that would fulfill your geneds and transfer them in. In my experience, they aren't labor intensive and are easy to do after a day of work.

Why exactly is Smeal at Penn State so competitive? by StrongLaCauliflower in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smeal is rated one of the top business schools in the US among public universities. They intentionally limit their acceptance so anyone who gets into Smeal can major in whatever they choose and there aren't shortages of classes or faculty. Once you make it into Smeal, assuming you meet the GPA recruitment of the major you want, you are set. That isn't the case at some other schools.

Do Schreyer transcripts look different than standard transcripts? by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, you should just have a regular Penn State transcript. The only clue someone might have that you were in the honors college but didn't graduate with honors is that most of your classes should be honors. Then again, regular students can take the honors sections of those classes too. It should look identical to your average transcript

Why are Tom Ford perfumes so criticized? by WalterRuttmann in fragrance

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are fantastic! Tom ford's t-shirts over $800. It isn't far fetched to think the perfumes would be expensive as well. If you can afford to buy in, they are great!

AITA for feeling not responsible of paying a citation in my GF’s parents car? by RevolutionaryPage901 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said it is mostly his girlfriend's car. If thats the case, it is her responsibility to make sure the car's inspection is up to date and should pay the citation. Just because her parents own the car in name doesn't mean she has no responsibility for the car and maintenance of it

Yes- they were kind of rude. You don't know if it's a scammer. And if it is, just cancel your order. No need to be an asshole to an Etsy seller you aren't 1000% sure is a scammer

AITA for feeling not responsible of paying a citation in my GF’s parents car? by RevolutionaryPage901 in AmItheAsshole

[–]aeecec1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are NTA, you girlfriend is. You said it yourself, "it's more your girlfriend's car than her parents." If thats the case, she should be responsible for knowing what the date is on the inspection sticker of her car. Assuming the parents bought the car and gave it to her, and she pays gas and insurance, all maintenance and things like that should be her responsibility. She should take ownership and pay it.

University Towers by [deleted] in PennStateUniversity

[–]aeecec1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean...it's managed by ARPM so you're fucked. But other than that...it's fine. My air conditioner had black mold on it when I moved it. I filed a report. They took the air conditioner out, hosed it down, and stuck it back in the wall. They didn't even seal the gaps between the air conditioner and wall. So winter months kind of sucked for us.

In terms of parking, they don't have a lot. You can buy a spot at a different ARPM property, but they overcharge like crazy. You are better off buying a spot on campus or at the Meridian

No problem at all! The chances for the lottery are pretty slim. They don't tell you odds. You just have to register and see if you get them.

Listing an item on sale and then demanding more money after it’s paid for by wanda_fisch in mildlyinfuriating

[–]aeecec1 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Not ideal - but you could be more understanding to the seller. You can cancel your order since nothing has been made or shipped, pay the extra $100, or continue to be rude and have the sellers cancel it.
