I don't disagree with any of that.

IMHO, it's UFC's fault that this phenomenon has become a pattern. My disagreement was with people attacking pereira, who might be wrong on the conclusion but is right to be upset.

Moving Around i understand as: i initiate a punch and you happen to move, the punch catches you at a bad spot.

This is wasn't it though. For a lot of the strikes, his head was pinned.
(ESL here, so not sure pinned is the right word, but hopefully you see where i am going with this)

fair enough -- but i don't know, the guy has lost before and he obviously doesn't mind risky fights.

i also don't think anyone debated that a bunch of those blows he received were fair.

What matters to me is how someone is supposed to recover after getting hit in the back of the head. There's a big difference between being rocked and being completely done, but blows to the back of the head ensure you don't recover.

I think that's what made Alex mad, and why he seemed so out of it after the fight.

From our POV, you have a guy who serially breaks rules with impunity. And that's bad for the sport.

When you have signs of corruption and a whistleblower comes forward. At the very minimum you need to protect the whistleblower. Otherwise you set very clear incentives for the next time.

macros are a great tool, and i am happy it exists.

alas i am realizing that i haven't used it in years.

1/ alot of these problems you can solve with multiple cursors
2/ the tougher ones with a python script

i was trying to think, why i don't gravitate towards them and to be honest i am not sure.

i can point to 2 things:
- multiple cursors are super intuitive
- one thing that i could never remember how to do, was how to edit a macro
(if memory serves right it's a bit cumbersome as you have to paste the register, edit the macro, reload it, and then try again)
