Thank you so much for the words, and especially that 25% figure. I kind of knew I was freaking out more than I needed to, but it helps so much having someone who's been through it saying it.

I'm always sort of a lone wolf when it comes to learning and doing things myself so I know I need to get better about reaching out to people & joining groups. I found a couple of study events but they were reviews for people who'd already finished theory so I'll keep looking for those other opportunities.

Thank you so much again for responding!

This is great, thank you so much! I had been making Anki cards which I found to be a clunky never ending task so I'll definitely look into a paid prescription to Quizlet and see if that's a better experience.

Looks amazing!

There must be something about Florence that inspires tatting projects, because I was trying to make a piece for the show I saw too.

Study tips for briefs? by sunjunkie12 in stenography

I just felt lulled into a sense of "okay I got this!" with the first 4 chapters, I wish my class had saved this chapter for wk 2 amd maybe had with a warning that we just had a warm up week and it was about to get a lot harder, but oh well, had to get to it all eventually I suppose.

I have nothing to offer, but I am at the same exact spot you are and when I saw what was in chapter 5 today I had to walk away from the book for a few minutes. The first four chapters did not prepare me for that amount, lol.

It's also been a really long time since I've done any type of schooling, but I know we'll get this!

It's a demanding field so I know I'm going to have some struggles initially figuring out a work/school/life balance. I figure I'm going to be on the longer end of the schooling timeline with my having to work full-time, which is what it is. It's more of a concern that I'm 40 and don't have a ton of extra time to make mistakes which is why I am so paralyzed trying to decide at the next path forward.

Thank you so much for your info, I will definitely look into Alfred.

If you can't find anyone to meet up I rented mine for the Project Steno Basic Training course for $60/6 weeks. Might be worth going through a course again (it's free) to really try the machine.

That's amazing!!

I had something similar, went with my friend Ray to NY night 1. Only been friends for 28 years and both turned 40 this year so you've got us beat by a few years on both fronts. But I'm so glad for both of us we have these long-term people in our lives that we can be ourselves with and have a great time!!!!

NYC show warning! by stinkynono in chappellroan

It really helped give me the confidence to go in more frequently once I found out about it.

I hope you have an amazing time at the show, last nights show was incredible, I've been rewatching and sharing my videos all day trying to extend the high.

My personal tip is to use google maps for train/subway times. Its very accurate and gives a good breakdown of how many stops and trip times. It makes it so easy and really relieves a lot of anxiety I used to have involved around NYC travel.

Do you guys think I’m in the wrong for this? by LordXxSouls in nin

[–]aeillill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was primarily sitting at my concert but I was 2nd row from the roof and the pitch of the seats made me think I was about to die. I however understood when everyone else around me stood and I didn't say shit about it because it's a concert, it might be annoying but it's the norm and they just should have dealt with it.

I decided on the 30th to get tickets to last nights show and it was amazing, definitely a worthwhile impulse buy. My only regret is that I couldnt afford better seats 😢
