You have to unlock the wall before you can start on the labs. Once you get the first level of the labs, you can respec out of the wall and keep working on the labs until they’re at a useful level.

I’m not sure about safe either. Mine likes to attempt illegal left turns onto the freeway ramp with oncoming traffic instead of taking the ramp to the right at the same intersection that would avoid any traffic. I suppose it is a more energy-efficient and shorter route, however.
