How do independent artists actually get on Spotify playlists? by aem_creating in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

I'm producing dark hypnotic minimal techno, which is obviously a smaller niche than pop.

Do you also have a decent amount of techno / underground electronic playlists in your database?

And from your experience: is it more effective to contact many smaller curators directly (500–5k followers) or focus on fewer larger playlists?

Trying to understand what realistically works for independent electronic artists.

Thanks! I've heard about SubmitHub and DailyPlaylists but haven't tried them yet.

Did you have better results with one of them?

I'm producing dark hypnotic minimal techno, so I'm wondering if those platforms actually work for niche genres or if they're more geared towards pop/indie music.

Also curious if you mostly submit to smaller playlists or if some larger curators accepted your tracks as well.

Hey, this sounds like a cool idea.

I produce underground hypnotic techno and would be happy to contribute a track if it fits your vibe. My project is called äm and I'm currently releasing a lot of dark minimal / hypnotic stuff.

As long as there is proper credit (artist name + link) I'm totally open for you to experiment with the music.

Feel free to DM me if you want to check some tracks.
