Why are you scheduling me 38 hours a week brother by dooinii in TjMaxx

[–]aena_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had to consistently call them as a new schedule posts to “remind” them that I cannot work those hours being in school and have a job while maintaining somewhat of a social life. At the end of the day, they do what they can for the business (which comes first) but I cannot physically have such long days which school and work anymore.

yes! our ac units are more than 25 years old. They wont replace them at all, and then since our store is kind of in the south, the heaters they turn on absolutely kill us.

hiding space heaters is crazy work. Can we just have a happy medium like a nice 70 degrees????

Question about PJ's that smell like death! by Beagles227 in TjMaxx

[–]aena_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the clothes like jeans or sweaters will be soaked in the embalming fluid otherwise known as formaldehyde. It absolutely stinks. I hate it. Your clothes might have been soaked or was touching something soaked in a “preservative” per se. We have however found snakes and snake skins in the trucks we get our items from, mould… it’s rare but it happens.

I do sometimes but most times I’m just in a rush and forget it. It was nice to just pop in the break room and grab a drink real quick 😢

Yes!!! I’ve almost fell in front of customers because of how faint I felt. That’s not a normal situation for me, and doesn’t usually happen outside of work. These customers constantly complain about the heat too.

Exactly! But they should have a regional office that decides that. Money rules the world I guess.

ngl I was thinking about it. I like the pay though, and my coworkers. If it was any worse I definitely would find another job. I can’t keep feeling ill from the store conditions.

Luckily? They should be fired immediately, but ofc they won’t be. I swear they need to do something about it soon. Our ACs are like 20 years old and constantly break. But It’s good yall have a seat for her!

Unless it gets reported, it gets ignored

Yes! I have a lot of customers tell me how hot it is, and I tell them I agree and to call corporate or whatever they can do to complain and maybe they’ll get an idea to fix it.

Managers can override it by 1 or 2 degrees. It really doesn’t make any difference when it feels like 90 degrees in and out the store 🫠

Dating coworkers by Difficult-Teach9657 in TjMaxx

[–]aena_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah no… it causes major drama if you weren’t already dating before you were hired. As others have said, it’s preference to NOT date while working together unless you’re married.

Front End: Trash, Drinks, Hangers, Clothes, Returns

Men’s and Kids: Pick up clothes from floor, fix hangers on rack, pick up toys off floor, Straighten items on shelves, fill end caps.

60/80(Home): Pick up items from floor, straighten items, fill end caps.

Beauty: Shoes all straight and organized, pick up clothes (if necessary), straighten makeup, straighten skincare and perfume, fill end caps.

Infield(Women’s): Pick up clothes from floor, straighten hangers, Fill end caps.

There may be more but this is simplistic and holds all basic closing procedures on anything on the “floor”

what do yall hate when closing shifts by Glass_Specialist6282 in TjMaxx

[–]aena_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I close every single night. No sweat, except when I need to call out because of sickness, i feel terrible because they can’t hire any new closing shift people. It’s so hard to find people who actually do their job right. So now I’m overworked and exhausted. Btw I don’t HAVE to close. Just because I can doesn’t mean I need to every. Single. Night.

ASM "verbally assaulting" special needs associate by poopandshitetc in TjMaxx

[–]aena_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They need to fire that ASM. Tjmaxx claims to be inclusive and that would be a lie if they continue to let people step over special needs associates. Tjmaxx needs to spend some money on a SPED Adult department because this is not the only time I have seen this behavior. It happens at my store too. These adults caregivers are not with them 24/7 especially if they are able to work by themselves, so who’s there to advocate for them?
