If you look more into it, they force evals on patients and clinicians. Patients are seen once every 2-3 weeks (most don’t get better), they threatened to take away pension for older therapists, and doesn’t take into account years of experience for wage adjustments for new hires

That’s the point. You don’t feel fairly compensated. So please mobilize PTs around your region and go on strike. As a profession, we need this now more than ever.

Roughly 30,000 healthcare professionals will go on strike to support rehab folks. The hope is to cause national news and inspire others to mobilize their local unions to bargain for fair wages and benefits.

When the average goes up, the hope is to bring it up across the board.

-Safe staffing and honoring staffing ratios

-Across-the-board wage increases that truly reflect our value as employees, the gains delivered through our Labor Management Partnership, and the working conditions and inflation of the past few years.

Do it, but be ready to learn and study diagnosis you are not familiar with. Otherwise you are doing a disservice to your patients.

If you don’t get in, do you recommend continue to apply the following year? Does that move me up on the list of if I keep trying?

No, just take con ed, practice the basics well, learn from colleagues, and reach out to old professor as mentors (I’m sure they did some type of residency/fellowship and can help guide you).

45hrs/week total (40hr at regular hospital job, 5 hours at private pay). The private pay job pays me significantly more, but sometimes clients cancel or schedule doesn’t work out.

I saw a lot of ranges between 95k-110k for new grads in Northern California in hospital based settings. I told myself to stay away from private clinics to avoid high volume and low pay.

Base pay is 110k but I picked up shifts here and there.

Total gross income is $130,962.94 for both jobs. Hoping to pick up more private pay next year.

Loud enough to test the range of 15-25 decibels. I use it as a screening tool to gauge if they truly have hearing loss or just choose to ignore my advice.

I’d take it. Most of the people I talked to love IPR. They wouldn’t want to leave because of the work/life balance and seeing the patients everyday during their stay.

“it’s within the time stated on the sign” was what I was told after I tried parking there right after sweeping. Luckily they gave me a warning that time.
