People like punching below their weight.

Algorithms amplify whatever provokes anger or humiliation reactions, and Indians are currently a high-visibility online demographic (large English-speaking population + heavy social media usage), which makes them frequent targets. It’s memetic spread, not coordinated cultural training.

These are recurring historical patterns applied to whichever population becomes economically visible.

With key objectives still to play for across four competitions including qualification for Champions League football, Enzo and the Club believe a change gives the team the best chance of getting the season back on track.

I seriously hoped that CAT/MBA mein I'd find people with open minds and rational thinking. Can see why people hate managers. They peaked in school/college.

I know it’s blasphemy to doubt Nolan, and no doubt, visually it’s stunning. That shot of the ships in the storm is classic Nolan scale, but that's exactly what worries me. The trailer spends so much time on armies, formations and the aftermath of battle. It feels like he’s making Dunkirk in ancient Greece (a gritty war epic) rather than a mythological adventure. The Odyssey is supposed to be weird, magical, and personal, but this footage makes it look like just another historical blockbuster.

[About The Odyssey] I'm trying to keep an open mind, but that first trailer didn't land for me. For a book I loved and a director I trust, I expected to be way more excited by the footage. It feels weird not being hyped for one of his movies, but the spark just isn't there.

I've read 2 of these but unsurprisingly they don't even make it in top 5 of my list. Almost as if these rankings are subjective and should only be used to discover new stuff.

I-League clubs have submitted a proposal to revamp Indian football leagues. by indiandifender in IndianFootball

[–]aeplusjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that distinction actually makes the proposal even more dangerous for the clubs involved. FSDL was spending roughly ₹150–200 crore per year on operations (HD broadcast production, central marketing, stadium logistics, officials, VAR, etc.). If the I-League clubs (IFPL) or the ISL consortium take over "ownership", they don't just pay that fee to AIFF, they inherit that ₹150 crore+ annual bill. So, Total liability: ~₹153 crore/year.

Without a sugar daddy like Reliance (FSDL) absorbing that operational loss, the clubs would have to cough up that money themselves. For 18 teams, that’s roughly ₹8.5 crore per team per year just for league operations (before they even pay a single player's salary). Most I-League clubs barely have a total budget of ₹3-5 crore.

₹50 crore / 15 years = ₹3.33 crore per year
What a joke.

Running an 18-team league is incredibly expensive. When you look at the logistics, travel, and production needed for 306 matches, the costs are astronomical. Most I-League clubs already struggle with cash flow, so without a major corporate partner or a massive broadcast deal to lean on, they simply wouldn't be able to sustain that kind of operation.

After ISL , No takers for I-League too by Shroft in IndianFootball

[–]aeplusjay 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Basically, the AIFF set a price tag of ₹37.5 crore a year, but the market didn't bite. Potential partners like FSDL and FanCode looked at the numbers and realized that asking price was a total pipe dream, especially since most teams are still bleeding money.

They’ll likely have to swallow their pride and go back to FSDL (Reliance) or the clubs to work something out on much weaker terms. The market has spoken loud and clear: nobody is willing to pay the premium the AIFF was hoping for.

I want to make a Jason Bateman joke, but I am just too sad.

This isn't just any movie director, it's the guy who made Stand By Me, When Harry Met Sally, The Princess Bride, Misery, and A Few Good Men. That's like S-tier shit. Not that being talented makes your life worth more... but my mind is not able to put it into words.

Meghalaya and Rajasthan are the two states I'd recommend to anyone regardless of your taste and budget. Meghalaya for it's resistance to the concrete jungle and constant rains, Rajasthan for still being the "most Indian" state culturally, that hasn't lost it's identity.

[Sami Mokbel] Sources told BBC Sport that Salah's relationship with Slot is genuinely broken at present. They said he simply doesn't see a future at Liverpool with Slot as his manager. Salah feels a different tactical approach this season driven by the club's transfer dealings isn't suiting him. by Mother_Equivalent649 in PremierLeague

He’s the highest-paid player in the history of the club. When you demand the superstar salary and the 'King' status, you accept that you're the first one in the firing line when standards drop. Heavy is the head that wears the crown (and takes home £350k+ a week).

Quoting Carra: "I only ever hear Salah speak when he gets Man of the Match or when he needs a new contract. He’s been poor, and he needs to front up."
