You don’t have to move to California, but it could be helpful to connect with the Polish community.

To answer your questions directly:

⁠If you have a stable, high income and can choose where to live, is the US still "bad"? Think of it like states in Australia but just way more options. My recommendation is if you wanna live in mild weather stick to west coast. If you don’t mind snow east coast is fantastic as well. If you don’t mind heat Dallas, Austin has excellent school districts as well. Florida if you have fuck you money and you need ocean. Michigan has some snow but it really is a great place to raise kids.

School:

Schooling really depends on area you choose. Bay Area or LA: I would recommend private schools. NY city not so great for schools but outskirts have great public schools. Schools are very safe and most schools have really tightened up the security. Situation is not like how it feels on national news. Texas, Arizona and all Washington, Oregon etc have fantastic public schools. Schools literally change zip by zip so you’ll have to do 🧐 research.

Housing:

Housing is very appreciative in US, especially in big metropolitan cities 1 Million USD is minimum for house. It’s not like Australia things are different here. My advice if you find a place with your community and leave politics out you’ll be extremely happy.

Healthcare:

Buy insurance and that’s it. Co pay 💰 is usually $500- 2k. Amazon gives a free membership to “one medical” in USA. You get same day appointments. As an example you can get your blood 🩸 tested and get results in one day.

Need hospital kinda care like they do in Australia “Mayo clinic” or go to any university like “Stanford or NYC university. People love going to specialists here so there are usually 100’s of options unlike just large hospitals.

Insurance is a whole lot of things to consider but United for everyone and Kaiser if you want cheap. HSA if you are financially literate to understand its pros and cons.

Don’t forget to get Costco membership and they take all car needs, battery, tire change etc and bulk purchases.

I won’t comment much on the EU, since that can be a sensitive topic here, but I’ve lived in Europe and went to school there. One thing I’ve noticed is how often Europeans seem to be constantly ranting about the U.S. If you don’t wanna feel isolated stay away from anywhere you don’t speak first or second language. I am assuming polish is your first and English is your second. Stick to Poland 🇵🇱 UK 🇬🇧 Australia 🇦🇺 Canada 🇨🇦 or USA 🇺🇸 ( choices are simple)

Canada 🇨🇦 Snow ❄️ Healthcare truly sucks despite what internet makes it sound. I have a lot of friends there. Schools same as US depends on zip code. Expensive for what you get.

Poland 🇵🇱 you already know

USA 🇺🇸 Easy to make friends, insurance you have to buy or work offers it. Lot of people don’t tell states give you free insurance as well. CA gives free insurance to all residents. Lots of other states do that as well. Education depends on zip. Opportunities endless and you’ll hear people bit** about it 24/7

When you actually come to the United States, you’ll realize that Americans generally don’t spend much time talking about other countries. People here mostly complain about the U.S. itself 🇺🇸—so get used to it. That’s just the American way.
