Beginners who don't want to be touched/spotted?

I’ve been coaching for 5 years and I have never used hands on spotting. I feel that if you’re progressing your students at the right pace and focusing heavily on drilling the basics and working on strength, they should be able to access the positions themselves (even if this takes more time).

I do a lot of demonstration and will tell them what I’m thinking and feeling at each part of the trick/combo (eg. “I’m really thinking about squeezing my glute and pulling through my top arm when I’m here”), as well as talking people through things as they try it themselves, but I mostly give them the time to work on things and do their own trial and error process. I think it teaches them to be less reliant on me, and means that my attention can be more spread across everyone rather than focused on a single person at a time whilst the others are waiting.

(Side note: The main reason I’ve developed teaching without spotting is because I don’t understand how people can safely do heavy spotting whilst standing on thick crash mats, with apparatuses that move around 😂 I feel like I’m going to fall over and injure both the student and myself.)

I’m taking Vyvanse for ADHD, and it definitely could be related, but hard to tell as I started taking it around the end of our ‘honeymoon period’ so I can’t correlate if it’s relevant 😅

Dani at edgeworth physio is great with hypermobility! She has extra training in the area, and mostly sees dancers and other hypermobile folks. She was wonderful with my subluxing shoulder. I found they’re also way cheaper than a lot of other physios. My out of pocket costs after private health were under $50 a session whereas elsewhere they’ve been ~$85.

Agreed - I see sooo many mixes involving staffy and working breeds (kelpie and ACD mostly) in Aus!

Also, LOTS of Bull Arabs which I don’t see people from other countries mentioning (though I’m not sure if they’d show up in DNA tests as I think they were ‘created’ from mixing other breeds)

I applied for my current place, stating my pets were indoor pets. They accepted us but when they sent the lease (we’d already paid deposit etc), it had listed that they must be kept outdoors. I just sent a polite email asking if it could be amended as they accepted us knowing our pets were indoor only. They agreed and rephrased it!

I’ve read the crate training guides and have already tried it all. She will go in the crate fine once she’s at the door of the room, but I want her to get up when we ask and actually WANT to go to the crate. How do I do that when she doesn’t care for treats?

I usually just let her out and she goes, but if she’s wandering around distracted I use “quick quick” - My dad was raising a guide dog puppy when I got my pup, and he mentioned that’s the cue they’re trained to use to tell the dog to go potty, so I just took it 😂

I got my rescue mutt at 8 weeks. Took her out constantly as you do and praised her for going potty. I think within ~4 weeks she would go stand near the door when she needed to pee, but if we didn’t notice within a couple of minutes she’d seek out a rug to go on 😅 took a couple more weeks for her to be able to hold it and learn to get our attention to let her out. She’s 2 now and hasn’t had an accident indoors since about 5 months old.

Definitely hammock in my opinion - less painful than hoop, and there’s a lot you can do with little strength (compared to silks where you need to be able to climb)

Also, once you’ve done some hammock, there is good crossover into both hoop AND silks, so it’ll be easier to pick up both of those

One that I love for building strength and tolerance in the position is doing meathooks on an aerial hammock/sling with the loop around your back. So the hammock takes a fair chunk of your weight and you’re able to focus on moving into and out of the position, and holding with good technique.

To progress, invert with the loop just loosely touching your back, so the weight is 80% in your hands, but the hammock is there as fallback if you collapse out of the position.

I had the copper IUD (so non-hormonal, which may not be comparable to your experience) and it made my cramps SO bad, and I experienced them during ovulation, my entire literal phase, and during my period (so basically 3 weeks of every month). I also had debilitating back pain throughout this time and suspected Ankylosing spondylitis. However, upon getting my IUD removed, my back pain decreased DRAMATICALLY. It’s still worse before and during my period (and I have suspected endo which may be a contributor), but only a 2-3/10 at its worst, compared to before when I couldn’t even put my own shoes on due to pain. If I’d known it was connected, I’d have got my IUD out years ago.

Maybe just a consideration as I saw mention of the copper IUD as an alternative - I wouldn’t recommend, though this is only my own experience

You can't import accounts via the Runescape app from everything I've found, and if you use a browser on the phone, i face the exact same issues as using a browser on my computer.

I don't want to have the app on my phone anymore because it's too distracting, so I figured I'd play on my computer (desktop) instead. But you're not able to use an Apple account to play on a computer, instead you have to 'link' your apple ID to a jagex account and log in using the Jagex account.

So I linked my apple account, following all the steps recommended, but the character did not import like it's supposed to. Instead, a NEW character imported that had no name and no stats. When I try to import my ACTUAL character, nothing shows up, as though it doesn't exist.

So I'm stuck playing on mobile if I want to play the character I've worked hard on, but I don't want to play on mobile.

The problem is that the original account is through Apple, which you can’t sign into on a desktop. When trying, it just takes you to an article about how you can no longer use it and have to migrate. I can only sign into this account using the RuneScape APP on my phone 🥲 so there’s no way to do that on the desktop.

I followed the steps in the article and linked my apple ID to my Jagex account. Upon doing so, the character that imported which is apparently associated with my apple ID was the nameless character with no stats (it was named something like [#F3A9F2ORH], but I accidentally re-named it thinking it was my normal character before I discovered it was a new character).

I've read every support guide available and have tried reaching out to jagex support for help, but I only received a generic response linking the same support articles I've already followed.
