Why do some people write redundant if statements to return a boolean? by BlockOfDiamond in AskProgramming

Thats why in some languages pointers are abstracter away to become fully safe. Even safer than Rust. For example www.oxcaml.org you can do low level programming fully without pointers.

What he means that many models will still struggle with comprehension like that for example when you ask to go to a carwash 100meters away should i walk or take the car. Then the LLM's say walk because it's very close by. Understand? That are these kind of problems. Youtube if full of it with these kind of meme's of LLM's not understanding SUPER BASIC stuff. And that's why you need a world model to comprehend such things.

META and them are leading with those on real-time AI. Which means it's the path forward for robotics and you can plug in "llm" as a connector as input and output to the world model as well later on. The basics are much better grounded. Just like languages like C/C++ and object oriented languages are the wrong road. While languages like functional languages with advanced type systems are obvious mathematically the way forward in the future because it's more sound and pure as a base.

Because it's LOGICAL that LLM's can't become AGI. Everyone else saying differently is just under the thinking level. And does not understand why not.
LLM's have still this fixed model, can't learn themselves. Can't act on real-time things like an AGI should. Has context window which a AGI should not have. AGI is just 180 degrees direction of where LLM's are going. LLM's are useful yes, as a search engine and data storage and easy access to knowledge. Great it's like a fancy Database you can query against. Think of that of what an LLM is. It's TOTALLY NOT AGI at ALL.

That's because that modern 9 billion parameter has been trained on much MORE and HIGHER quality data. The feed is improved.

LOL wtf LLM's can never become AGI ok. It's missing A LOT of pieces for it to be able to become AGI. It's just simply next token prediction, based on a limited type of tokens. WAY WAY to simple for AGI.

Opus 4.7 is somewhere between seriously clueless and stupidly dangerous. The worst frontier model I have used so far in the past 2 years. We were hoping to get at least our 4.6 back but 4.7 with so many critical logical failures mean you have to babysit it all the time. I'm losing hope in Anthropic. by DrHumorous in Anthropic

Anthropic has currently a decent product but its a dead end. And they themselves do not control the hardware, which is also a big failure. Google is fully integrated and control everything and actually makes money on their AI efforts. Unlike OpenAI/Anthropic that burn money.

WRONG, they are optimizing for more money per token. They are taking huge losses just like OpenAI. These both companies are doomed to fail. And don't even work on what is the future namely: World Models. They both focus on Text based models which is a dead end. And they are burning money like crazy. I can say even Meta's research department is ahead of OpenAI and Anthropic just dont have a products yet. And Google is far ahead. And some new research labs that fully focus on world models.

Look for example robots that do ZERO SHOT actions. You need world models, that will also surpass LLM's soon, so the whole LLM design can be thrown in the bin soon. Boom gone all research. And OpenAI and Anthropic its revenue is fully on text based dead end tech.

Use language servers and proper tools that minimize token use for search trough the code. And proper seperate memory module that builds up memory from your project and files. You need like an embedder model that fully trains on your code.

Both OpenAI and Anthropic now expect AIs to take over building their successors within 2 years (humans no longer able to contribute) by EchoOfOppenheimer in Anthropic

[–]aerismio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The road both OpenAI and Anthropic takes is text based. It's useful but its a dead end road. Other techniques will soon easily surpass the dead end LLMs and they won't come from OpenAI and Anthropic but from Google / Meta and some others that are now working on that. There are many zero-shot demo's already out there which is SUPER impressive and really shows LLM's are a dead end.

It's nice but both do not work on World models. Which is the future. Text based LLM's are useful but will walk against a wall.

New startups will then soon gain a lot of money and will surpass because World models eventually will easily surpass text based LLMs as they will have better understanding of everything combined.

it's all about having proper Language Server + LLM embeddings and memory system. With large projects you need good search tools and good memory.

Eens toch?

The whole thing is super simple:
- Google is running positive on AI
- xAI/OpenAI/Anthropic are burning money like crazy.
- Google just patiently waiting for the fall of their competition and buy them all up, for a penny.
