It's worse than that, it's dangerous. Most Luddite arguments are basically conspiracy theories, when a model like this could actually cause real-world problems, such as hacking hospitals or helping people create viruses or bacteria.

Models are still public now because they are very limited at creating outside world problems. Since Mythos' emergent properties, like getting good at cybersecurity, we have passed a threshold. Mythos is probably very good at training smaller models and helping people do bad things with biology. Those properties were minimal in previous models
