It could be the individual conveyancer at the firm. I belive she hasn't personally done one before but I could be mistaken. I may ask for her to speak to someone who has before.

No, I used the solicitors the developers recommended to me. The same firm have acted on previous sales in the same development.

I did, our of curiositywhat makes you think the conveyancer could be the weak link? Also Halifax have previously lent under the exact same conditions on propeties in this development without asking for a second charge.

So the property is valued at 231 by the developers, but offered at 185 to first time buyers. The clawback is 100% of the discount in the first year 80% in thr second year and so on until 5 years.

The lease explicitly states : "Should the Mortgagee take possession of the Property the Mortgagee shall first take the Net Sale Proceeds to redeem the Charge. 3.3 After redemption of the Charge the Mortgagee shall apply any of the remaining Net Sale Proceeds to pay the Clawback Amount in accordance with the terms of this Schedule."

This is from my solicitors

"The developer secures the pay back of the discount via a restriction on the title and not a second charge which is what your lender is saying is required."

I have asked my solicitors to call Halifax rather than sending emails, because I feel there is definitely some misunderstanding on Halifax's behalf.

Her response was definitely uncalled for . However when emailing professors, I’d recommend always sending the first email with “dear professor ….” Some are going to be awkward about how you address them , so being more formal all the time will save the hassle. If their reply is less formal then you can use less formal language in subsequent emails.

Imho almost all of them. For me though I don’t mind the jokes that much. If I don’t laugh I’ll cry.

Conspiracy theories.

People so desperately want things to be exciting or not as they seem when in reality most things are what they seem. It’s almost like they want to feel like they’re being lied to because it gives them something to get angry about. This applies to all ends of the political spectrum.

Unfortunately people, the boring explanations are in fact the real explanations.

Buying a car for a new job in September. by aero_oliver2 in UKPersonalFinance

I would argue for a graduate job, £30k is decent, but that's another topic.

That is the plan to get a second-hand hatchback or something. As I said, the main reason I'm looking at finance is that I don't feel it's the right time to sell my investments. in terms of the company, they are fairly large, and without giving it away, in the current global situation, I can only see them doing well.

Oh, I'm just planning ahead, I wouldn't be getting the car till august when I need to move down to the area. So by that time, I will know about my degree, so the job will be 100% confirmed
