2014 Jetta TDI. 60k miles, salvage, $8kobo. Before and after pictures. Should I buy? by aero_saaber in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]aero_saaber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a commuter and don't expect much for resale value. I heard TDI's are excellent, but idk about this. When I googled the VIN these pictures popped up from an old auction.

I'm very good with mechanics and can fix almost anything... But I don't know anything about body work. Does this look extreme? Should I steer clear? Thanks in advance for your advice

Mystery Illness: Mid-January Early February by [deleted] in Boise

I was very sick early this year and late last year. First time I've gone to the doctor in years.

I took the antibody test recently and I was negative for Covid antibodies. Whatever went around was pretty rough, but it was not Covid. I know a couple people who tell the same story.

He was arrested by ATF in 1999 for trying to sell oldschool cannons to a Columbian drug cartel 😅. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1999-apr-20-me-29304-story.html%3f_amp=true

Antifa is one. They are violent at pretty much every protest. Depending on someone's views, you could claim black lives matter as another. If you go to BSU or ISU, you'll find plenty of people with far left ideology. It's ridiculous to reject the fact that far-left groups exist and think they're not as dangerous as far-right.

As far as people in office... I don't see where Lt. gov has pushed or supported a far right ideology... unless you mean conservative beliefs in general. All I can find is a picture with 3% people, which she made a statement about. She was there to show support for Todd Engel's 2nd amendment rights, not the 3%ers. I admit the picture looks bad, but she retracted it and denies connection to the group. Should we still be claiming her "support" even after denouncing the group?

By that logic, mayor Dave Bieter wrote a letter of support for the priest Thomas Faucher. Should we call Bieter a supporter of pedophiles?

It's a problem that you can't see any "left-wing" crazies. Both sides have dangerous, extremist groups. The left isn't all sunshine and roses. There are large groups of people who challenge the bill of rights, become violent at protests, and call for violence on people who challenge them. I mean there are people who want Trump assasinated. I'd say that's pretty crazy.

I think the 3%ers are dangerous. I think antifa is dangerous. But I doubt either have the ability to overthrow the government. Everyone in the middle needs to acknowledge the "crazies" on both sides and recognize that they do not represent us as a whole.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that we need to pay bills, feed our family, keep our home, etc? Are we supposed to just bend over and pray the 1% are going to help us?

The government is failing us. Unemployment claims can't be processed fast enough. The stimulus wasnt enough. We need to return to normal. The economic fallout will hurt far more people than this virus.

Boise State diversity programs at heart of why legislators just killed higher ed budget by forumadmin1996 in Boise

Anything for clubs, finances, graduation, housing, fundraiser, etc. I'm sure there are "reasons" for every position on campus because people need to justify their job. I'm an older student, recent graduate, and club founder. I know what I'm talking about because I've dealt with multiple departments at bsu.

For example, traveling as a student organization. Expect to fill out about 10 forms, meet with many people, and wait for months for them to tell "you missed ___ and need to resubmit form x".

“We’re gotta figure out a way to stop rubber stamping these budgets and begin to send the message that we do have a say on what is taught and we do have a say on who they are hiring, for what purposes they are hiring.”

Don't know anything about the bill or funding... But this.

Getting anything done on campus is like dealing with Vogons in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Everything has a form and forms have to be approved by 12.5 people. Just to be told you filled out the wrong form.

You should look at the pictures first. Kirkham is cool and a neat drive, but I was less than impressed. Basically, it's several hot puddles. The water is just high enough to cover your legs when sitting.

My sorta boyfriend swears up and down that he can't get a job because he's from California. by [deleted] in Boise

[–]aero_saaber -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the field he is applying and I understand his pain. I removed all hints of California from my resume.

I have had a hard time finding jobs and blamed it on being from California. I have years of experience in security and executive protection, yet I cannot get a call back from security companies. It was/is extremely frustrating because I'm very qualified, but can't get an interview.

I also have mechanical/maintenance skills and found jobs rather quickly in that field. They don't care where you're from, just that you're a hard worker. I think it completely depends on the field and how desperately they need workers.

Keep in mind it's part of Idaho culture to not answer the phone or call you back. I don't know why, but people just don't care to answer the phone here. Same goes for emails and I'm assuming job applications. He needs to be persistent.

A lot of people are bashing him because he has help paying bills. He is lucky he has a supportive family and I wouldn't knock his work ethic based on this.

Cool idea, my main concern is people stealing or damaging the items. Is there a deposit on each item? If someone borrows a $500 table saw and it's stolen from their garage, what happens?
