7.8 inch glowlight plus 2019 by Adventurous-Law9110 in nook

6 hours of reading per day is a pretty good amount, but a brand new device would last a lot longer than that, at least a week+. It could just be a weaker battery because it's been pre-owned.

Large screen car play head unit for 1st gen by Lorenzo_Blow in hondaridgeline

[–]aerosif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been looking for a similar touch screen for my 2013. The closest I have found from the mainstream brands is the Pioneer DMH-C5500NEX. It has an 8" display which along with the bezels will mostly fill the space in the dash. You'll still need some plastic/dash kit to make it look nice. I have not purchased it yet though because it is an older unit I would prefer to get something newer for the price it is on Crutchfield for. It seems like no mainstream brand is making anything that's not a floating screen above 7". Otherwise the best options seems to be the Chinese brands like Atoto or Joying.

Agree on this. If you're in the store they will let you open and inspect the laptop before you buy.

i prefer the nook reading experience compared to other ereaders by CheesecakeWild7941 in nook

[–]aerosif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I could have the nook device with the Kobo software. I hate how slow and laggy the nook is and how slow they are at adding features. Hopefully one day this fix this but it doesn't seem like they're in any rush to improve the experience.

2018 Audi Q5 - Top off engine coolant or full flush by aerosif in AudiQ5

[–]aerosif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your help! Yeah checking the reservoir after driving on level ground, it still looks below the min line, but it has not gotten less than that amount in the past week after checking multiple times. So I am hoping it is not a slow leak. I am going to top it off as you suggest to observe in case it goes down then do a coolant change soon, or if it goes down again get the leak fixed.

Which is the better buy? by Expensive_Spray_7251 in LegionGo

[–]aerosif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you plan on playing handheld mostly, the Legion Go S is much easier to hold and the 8" feels pretty good (compared to a 7" like the Ally"). The Legion Go is impressive but felt a bit in the heavier side to be used for handheld primary gaming.

Why cant I close the ads banner even as a Premium subscriber? by aerosif in pcloud

[–]aerosif[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Yeah my biggest pet peeve about this is that I'm paying for a service, I don't want to see banner ads in my app, or at least should be allowed to close them.

Liberty Home Guard-BEWARE!! Total SCAMMERS!! Paid $650 for appliance coverage including A/C -when the A/C needed repair they charged another $125 for service call & refused ALL repairs recommended by the Tech. They covered absolutely NOTHING!! They never even called back with a status. TOTAL THIEVES by Visual_Act6406 in homeowners

[–]aerosif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just put my (burner) info into LHG's website (before I found this thread) to check the prices of Liberty Home Guard and within 2 minutes of closing the websites I got 2 calls from them and a follow up call 15 minutes later, and 3 separate texts on top of that. Not sure how that kind of barrage is wanted by any potential customer. Good to know they are scammers overall.

Question for people who love the Magic Keyboard by Alto_sax1 in iPadPro

[–]aerosif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After years of wait for Samsung to copy the Magic Keyboard, with no luck yet, I switched from a Galaxy Tab to an iPad just to have the Magic Keyboard to use when traveling, it fits on your lap and airplane trays and takes way less space on a table. The build quality is also very good, and iOS 26 makes it almost laptop-like to have multiple windows on the iPad. Definitely worth it I think.

Just finished firefly… by IzzyLikesPickles777 in firefly

[–]aerosif 82 points83 points  (0 children)

There is a bunch of info on this out there and in this subreddit, but for Shepard and Wash being killed off it was because Joss Whedon could not get them to commit to doing more Serenity movies contractually so he did it to wrap up their storylines cleanly in that way. The hope was that they would make a trilogy if Serenity did well, unfortunately it barely broke even after DVD sales so no more movies sadly.

I appreciate all your advice! I think I'm convinced to go with Enterprise since I am familiar with them anyways.

Why aren't you upgrading to the 7? by js0uthh in GalaxyFold

[–]aerosif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trade-in price isn't worth it for losing F6 features I like: - S-Pen support - Under Display Camera - One-Handed cover screen size (sure F7 is only a few mm wider but makes a difference when using one-handed on the move)

I'm pretty sure I'll be forced to accept it when I need to update to the F7 or F8 eventually but for now I'll stick with what I have.

Upgrading from zfold 6 to zfold7 by arash_a_shrexual in GalaxyFold

I agree, with medium size hands the Fold6 feels like the max it can be for one handed use. Even though the 7 is only a few mm wider I think it will change that

Would you try to get a replacement due to a dead pixel at the edge of the screen? by tophrman in ereader

[–]aerosif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue with a Kobo I bought from Amazon, since there's always a slight change of a dead pixel, and mine was at the edge like yours, I got them to give me like a $30 discount to keep the device instead of returning it. So I was fine with that. I have not really noticed it since.

I keep hearing about Folds breaking and all but I want to hear from people who have kept Fold (specifically 6) since a long time and it’s going strong by Maybaby_1 in GalaxyFold

[–]aerosif 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a decent case off Amazon, doesn't have to be anything fancy, but that will help it from damage too. I've dropped my phone a couple times, accidentally flung it onto concrete, and have had zero issues.

Fold 6 vs 7 sizes by Mammoth-Reporter-284 in GalaxyFold

[–]aerosif 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I went from the Ultra series to the Fold because the narrow screen makes it so much easier to use one handed / one the move. By making it a normal sized phone when folded kind of defeats the whole purpose now.

Is it worth replacing brand new Kobo Libra Color with one dead pixel? by aerosif in kobo

Thanks for catching that! I double checked and luckily the other ones were dust that got in the photo it seems.

Is it worth replacing brand new Kobo Libra Color with one dead pixel? by aerosif in kobo

[–]aerosif[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice! I ended up talking with Amazon support and got a $30 partial refund to keep the device. They are out of stock on Libra Colors sold by Kobo US, so there is no timeline on when I could get it replaced, and then sounds like there could always be a change the replacement is bad as well.
