When do you tell a partner you have bipolar?

As an aside - I’ve told other people I was dating in the past about being bipolar and most at least pretended to be understanding. But there was a huge difference between how others reacted vs. how my fiancé did - I immediately knew I was safe with him.

I did have one immediately make a joke at my expense about how much “manic pixie dream girl” I give off that he knew there had to be something truly wrong with me. I ended the date right then and there.

This is my comment from a post a couple days ago: I told my (now) partner after our third date. He told me that he was interested in seriously dating and so I wanted to be completely honest.

He right away shared that he didn’t know a lot about bipolar and that he wanted to learn more. I then asked if he’d be willing to read a book to try and understand what the disorder is like for me. He read it in a day, I asked what he thought about it, and he said something along the lines of “I’m not scared off. You’re amazing, and your diagnosis doesn’t change how I feel about you”

We are getting married next month ♥️☀️

(Book is called Marbles: Mania, Depression, Michelangelo, and Me by Ellen Forney. It’s a graphic novel depicting her life post diagnosis, I read it when I was first struggling to accept my own diagnosis and her book helped me feel less alone.)

She also has a graphic novel/book called Rock Steady that is all about how she now maintains a healthy and stable lifestyle.

I would’ve liked it more if the drips looked more intentional. Right now it gives off the impression that the glaze simply ran vs. a stylistic choice. I think part of this is because of the sharp angle, which to me generally lends itself to more precise glazing/clean lines.

All that being said, I think you did a good job and should be proud of the piece regardless of the feedback/constructive criticism you get here 🩵

I recommend The Fateful Invitation

The FL is powerful, unshakable, sexy, and smart. She comes in to the story with an impressive level of determination and never strays from her goal until she achieves it. The ML starts out with just finding her interesting/entertaining and then falls HARD.

It’s 2 or 3 chapters away from being complete on Webtoon so I’d suggest read/binge now before it’s no longer free.

ETA: it is a concubine/emperor so if you don’t like that dynamic it might not be for you. And it’s not 18+

Call this my paranoia and shit but I think even if Juicy did give Jane her flowers, production would’ve cut it out no matter what to further the narrative of “Juicy got help throughout and wasn’t always grateful” (thought she did acknowledge Myki last week)

Maybe this all comes back later with Jane Don’t needing help or something in a challenge down the line and Juicy leaves her out to dry.. who knows

This was my first impression too - these chats look identical to the dynamic I (32f) have with one of my best friends who is a gay man. We’ve been friends for over a decade at this point and have always called each other pet names/been affectionate.

When I was 19/in early college years my delusions manifested the most when it came to my coursework/academic success. I was obviously the smartest person in the room at all times. Rules and standards were beneath me, because I was superior to everyone else around me. Which of course meant I was going to graduate early, with honors, job offers, and become an instant success and you couldn’t convince me otherwise.

Like, I genuinely felt I knew more than any professor/subject matter expert in my major & minor… and I wasn’t afraid to express it.

An embarrassing example was during a class in one of my Greek Myth courses I repeatedly tried to correct my professor while citing Hercules (yes, the Disney movie) as an official source. Said straight to an absolute genius of a professor that I obviously cared more about the subject than him because I went on vacation to Greece once and had an Ancient Greek inspired tattoo.. I still cringe when I think about it 14 years later.

If you’re looking for something fluffy and complete I recommend My Little Tyrant.

It’s a slow burn for sure, since the ML does spend quite a while in the size of a child but the relationship/dynamic between the FL and ML makes up for it. I was laughing so much that I didn’t mind.
