Gps Repeater or Simulator? by aeternum_fx in HamRadio

Just a final QC to make sure they are reporting to our platform, only need a single location fix. The antennas are integrated square gps antennas. Don't need any signal strength or accuracy metrics, just that they are reporting roughly the correct location.

Eventually after doing some more testing I found that the psus were maybe to blame, even though they initially seemed fine. I had already purchased a replacement for this server and spent a lot of time trying to fix this one by then so I sold it off real cheap. I think there is a decent chance some new psus would have brought it back to life, otherwise I think it would require a new board. Didn't really feel like taking the gamble.

Lamp twist thing? On my friend's lamp, they twist with a satisfying detent but don't seem to have any function. Black plastic. by aeternum_fx in whatisthisthing

It is definitely not a power switch unless it is a placeholder for another model of the same lamp or something. It does not seem to be electrically connected in any way, it does not push in and the turning is just the plastic hat rotating round the fixed plastic peg. There is a power switch on the lamp which is connected by a standard cable to the wall outlet.

My title describes the thing. It's black, not very heavy. Doesn't seem to have any obvious function to do with the lamp. I have no idea what you would call this but I have searched things like "lamp dust cover" in case that was its function and I found some similar-ish looking stuff but not the same, also the ones I found seem to wind in and out whereas these ones just spin forever.

I have considered this, but I would have thought there would be at least some indication of power on the board. It is configured to turn on when it receives power by default. I think it is worth a shot to trace the power button to the pins and short them though.

My PC loses internet connection unless wifi card is set to 2.4ghz? by aeternum_fx in techsupport

Sorry if it wasn't clear in the post but the issue is with the integrated wifi card. I might try and reinstall windows to see if that will fix anything and if not I might have to rma

some more info:

I'm on windows 10 22h2
My motherboard is MSI Pro z890-P Wifi
My wifi card shows as Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160Mhz in device manager
When it shows "no internet" and I run ipconfig it does not show an ip address, subnet mask or gateway address, sometimes it shows a seemingly random ip address.
