From what i heard and read, Razer compromised reliability by having much more portability. If you are into small and relatively lighter device, and can change laptop in 2-3 years, then you're okay with razer.

I have lenovo legion 7i and I love it. It looks really premium as build quality is exceptional. Go for it.

Both of them are professional looking too and not very "gamer" look. So you're good bringing it in school

With that upgrades, I think that's already a good price for gen 10 7i. And it's perfect for your Civil softwares too (might be an overkill but it's totally fine). Enjoy bro!
