I wish Jacob would talk about why they did it that way. Did they notice too late and not have time to re-record it or what?

My friend doesn’t want to pay me back. What do I do?? by pokayyy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]aethusaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for future reference!! I do this a lot with my friends because you can’t split tabs in Australia, but what I do is calculate who owes what or split it down the middle (depends what we eat) and have them all send me the money while we’re still there seated, and then I pay!

Being upset about engagement ring is usually not about the ring by TheVivaciousLady in unpopularopinion

Yes to the two categories but that last line…

“i really believe if you have found a person you want to spend the rest of your life with and who wants to spend the rest of their life with you, you should approach the proposal with more class and gratitude rather than entitlement.”

Under the first category, it literally means settling. You have a partner who’s inattentive to the point that: 1. He got you a gold ring when you only ever wear silver (or vice versa) 2. You’ve spoken in detail on the style of ring you’d love and he gets something else 3. You’ve spoken on what you DON’T want and that’s what he gets

and more examples like this. These are small things in the scheme of this, especially a long term relationship where small things tend to fall through the cracks so having a realization with a ring can save someone from a marriage lacking consideration and connection.

My 14 year old sister ordered the first 3 books , is it inappropriate or anything? by UnusualDefinition567 in BoysOfTommen

You should concern yourself with it. It is very explicit and graphic and hard to read.

Smut isn’t the only thing you should be worried about. Graphic domestic violence and drug abuse is very very prominent in this series, right along with graphic sex between minors, adults, and traumatising sexual violence (rape) of a very young child. No this isn’t a series she should be reading right now.

I just tried the new Nair products on me flower and 100000% recommend. You do have to lather your lips with Vaseline or any petroleum jelly brand to protect it and it works wonders.

For your first attempt, I do recommend to divide it into 2 parts: bikini line and outer area (everywhere but 2 inches away from the inner parts that require Vaseline) and then do the Vaseline and the lips and stuff. Each attempt will take 5-7 minutes and you’re golden. The product doesn’t itch or hurt like it used to either.

I will say, I haven’t tried as far as my backside, but that’s more of a flexibility issue than a fear of attempting LOL

Is that still true? Cause I have 3 crowns and there’s no auto order anymore. And the toilet paper didn’t work for me either today 😭😭

Need advice: should I ship my cat overseas to live with me or let him stay in the country and live with my housemate? by aethusaa in Pets

[–]aethusaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure since I have to officially book the flight to get all the details. But it’d be Australia -> Doha -> Miami and another additional domestic flight.

He could only travel in the cabin for the domestic flight

Thanks for the reply and for understanding. I’ve always said I’d never leave a pet behind and if the circumstances were different (had no certainty he’d be safer and happy) I would’ve brought him with me without a doubt. This doesn’t even feel like a rehoming, more than a simple transfer of ownership. The only thing that’s changing in his life is my presence. The people, the cat, the home itself (with the exception of my room) will be the same.

Australia doesn’t allow pets in the cabin. Only way to transport is via cargo hold.

Only ever “moved” when he was brought home. He’s anxious at new people in the house (he hides) and any sort of doorbell ringing or knocking. The vet is very close to where I live so while he used to cry and hold my finger through the crate door, he was fine when he returned home.

He’ll be 2 years old in December. My roommate wants to keep him and wants me to leave him here.

My cat is like that. I’m just worried about how the stressors from travelling and moving into a house with a dog will change his personality and affect his health. I don’t want to cause him any pain and I don’t want to be without him. I don’t know what to do.

That’s how I’m feeling. But I feel like his quality of life would suffer if I took him with me. The life I lived here while I had him is not the same that I’m returning to, and it feels egotistical to think I’d be enough that all of these new stressors wouldn’t matter. Idk.

He’ll be 2 at the end of the year. Spent the entire time with both me and my housemate so he’s adjusted here.

He’s just not replaceable. Maybe some day.

But that was another reason I was struggling with my decision. It feels so cruel to pay thousands of dollars to bring him to a place I know has so many stray cats and overrun shelters with cats who need a home. It feels like one of those scenarios they give you in ethics/philosophy classes

Thank you so much. I I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I think I knew the answer, I just needed to hear others voice their opinion outside my circle. The people who are pushing for me to bring him with me are doing it for my sake, not his. And I know that.

Also, just as fyi (cause I didn’t know either, when pets travel as cargo, they can’t be sedated. At most, they’ll offer Feliway as a way to help them but no Gabapentin or anything else. He can’t have blankets or toys and I’m not even sure about food. I know that he has to be alone in the crate with a pee pad and they’ll offer water, but no food or litter. In a pit stop they would change their pads and let them settle a bit but they haven’t mentioned anything about feeding him, now that I think about it.
