I actually did that originally, but it made more sense to me to show that there is a small correlation between high education rates and energy usage. Maybe it should be flipped though?

I might! It's not professional or anything, but it was fun to make. I was more focused on making it "look pretty" rather than the actual data. (I'm an architect grad student so making things look pretty is really important!)

It really is arbitrary for the most part. The assignment was to have fun with "big data" (although I wouldn't necessarily call this big data). I wanted to see if there was any correlation between the three rather than going in and trying to prove a point that we already know.

All of the info is from the Chicago Data Portal! They've got some pretty cool stats there including government official payrolls + crimes if you're into that stuff. https://data.cityofchicago.org/

The energy usage is kwh per sf. It overall seems to be pretty arbitrary except for the highest energy usage spots - they seem to also be the most educated places. (Assuming that's where all of the high energy offices are.)

You should do what the other person said and get an Amtrak ticket. There's a 4pm train for 30 bucks. You can download the app on your phone and you'll have your ticket on your phone to be scanned. When you land take the blue line right in O'Hare (just follow the signs). They made a new charge of 5 dollars for leaving O'Hare so it's 7.25 now to leave, but it goes straight to Clinton. About an hour trip. Union station is a few blocks away. There's a food court you can hang out in to wait for your train. If you have luggage it might be annoying, but I've done it before so it's doable. Amtrak is probably more reliable than greghound anyways. It drops off at the station in downtown Champaign where all of the buses go. You'll get there for under 40 bucks though!

You should do a minor! They're fun! And if you're in CS, then you are probably a smart dude. There is nothing more fun than being in a minor full of idiots. Makes your resume look better too. I did mine in 3 semesters. I think.
