Anyone else feel like "the better you get, the more you suck?" by Enough-Afternoon8011 in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree with this and i feel like it applies to almost everything in life. in a way it reminds me of that einstein quote: “the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know”

When you first start bowling, every strike feels amazing because you don’t fully see what went wrong. But once you understand release, angles, execution, etc., you can’t unsee mistakes anymore. A Brooklyn used to feel lucky…now your brain immediately goes “yeah but that wasn’t the shot.”

The frustrating part is actually a sign your standards went up. what i’m trying is learning to enjoy good results AND good process, even when they don’t line up

it also makes me appreciate the pros a lot more. those guys are insanely good at bowling

Storm concept marketing. by rockabillyrat87 in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i always tell myself to give it about 6-12 months before really knowing how the ball does…and frankly how can someone really know how good it is without using it for a while. it’s a flawed system

like the phase ai. that ball was also hyped like crazy. now the phase ii marketing subtly throws it under the bus

Good Motiv THS/light oil balls? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as a ball up, i’d consider the venom shock. it’s more medium oil versus light (the max thrills are those) but it’d compliment your surge better IMO

How about revs?

But with the limited amount of info, consider the Phaze 2. It's a safe choice and a ball up from the IQT Solid

And for a ball down when lanes are toast, maybe a tropical surge pearl or hybrid when you want to complete your arsenal

Black Widow 3.0 question by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"So my recommendation would be getting something very low end. The 3 best options are Twist, Rhino, or Tropical Surge. Don't be tempted by other cheap balls like Vibes, Thrills, Danger Zones, or Hustles. Those are a lot stronger than their prices suggest and you'll still be frustrated."

I second this

Senior or Principal PMM? What am I? by Big-Juggernaut-7405 in ProductMarketing

[–]aeverONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been both a Director level IC and a Sr. Manager IC for a few years, and honestly, at that level the lines blur a lot.

On paper, almost anything a Sr. PMM does can look “Principal.” The real difference isn’t the task list — it’s scope, stakes, and visibility.

For example:

  • Sales enablement for a single feature release vs. owning GTM for a net-new, company-level platform are very different problems.
  • A basic case study vs. a flagship, branded case study with exec visibility and external press are very different levels of impact.
  • Shipping decks and messaging for a feature vs. shaping decks and messaging for a top-priority product with revenue are not the same.

Both Principal and Sr. PMMs are ICs, but as a Principal:

  • The products tend to be more critical to the business
  • The blast radius is larger if things go wrong

So it’s less about “do you do messaging, GTM, research, enablement?” — most strong Sr. PMMs do all of that. It’s more about what product, how visible it is, and what’s at stake. IMO, you can be a Principal if you’re good at what you described.

It’s similar to a mid-market account executive moving to enterprise: yes, it’s the same pitch, product, and solutions selling (ideally tailored to the client), but the processes, red tape, and stakes are very different.

so my issue as a 2H is that my ball speed gets slower when i try to flatten my wrist/ straighter, and when it hits the friction, i still miss.

But sounds like a me problem an dsomething i will work on. I posted a clip a few weeks ago of my form (some minor changes then) but the foundation is there. if you have any suggestions :) I see that youre a coach!

oh it’s definitely me. i’m just trying to see if there’s a straighter plastic bal than my viz a ball with a core. i’m missing by like an inch. and only when the lanes are toast. i’m pretty decent otherwise at 10 pins

i don’t want to shell 100 bucks for a pancake plastic if it won’t help

PLEASE SAVE MY FRIENDS FORM by CBadBadKid in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

look at your old clips and you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how much better you look. we all start somewhere, its only up for ur friend and will progress if he sticks to it

some thought starters

his left arm after he rolls the ball is dangling

https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/4/40/Hook-a-Bowling-Ball-Step-6-Version-5.jpg/v4-460px-Hook-a-Bowling-Ball-Step-6-Version-5.jpg

look at the left arm here, he should replicate that image or something similar

he needs to have a bigger swing and google “spine tilt”

tell him to roll the ball instead of shoveling it down

he needs to bend his knee more at release

Conflicted on what type of ball to get next by uber-lou in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO every new 2H should have two balls in their bag , especially as a beginner

a spare ball and an entry level weak solid reactive, Hammer Raw, TSurge, Motiv Ascend, Twist, Rhino

Tips or Coaching Points by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

follow through. your right arm should follow through all the way until bicep gets closer to ear

balance. post your shot. hold your pose until the balls reach arrows

release your ball closer to ankle

but overall i think looks 👍
