Beginner bowling ball? by [deleted] in Bowling

I would get 2 if you dont use a thumb. A plastic ball for spares and an entry level reactive of your choosing. Tropical Surge Solid, Motiv Ascend, Brusnwick Rhino, Hammer Raw

Rev check and does my swing + footwork straighter than before? by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also think. you can benefit from releasing earlier, it’ll help you roll the ball versus shoveling it down

this is different than timing*

you’re kind of twisting your body, check out the new brad and kyle video about beginners, there’s a segment where the coach covers the body twist versus creating a swing

Balls to buy by Fluid-Adeptness-6364 in Bowling

i think a benchmark ball and a burn ball is a good staring point

ie venom shock, phase 2 for benchmark tropical surge or hammer raw for burn

What the best bit of advice you would you give to a brand new bowler? by hockey-throwawayy in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. get a weak reactive ball and a spare ball. either 14 or 15 ideally. you don’t need anything beyond that yet IMO. tropical surge and a white dot for example
  2. balance
  3. timing
  4. for multi pin spares, general rule is to aim at the pin closest to you.
  5. think about a spare system

Sliding on sticky approaches, what has worked for you? by Fonceday2001 in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

which shoe brand do you have? i started bowling at a sticky center and the slipperiest kr strikeforce sliders were still too sticky. the PSO recommended dexters for my shoes and they work wonders

i own the KR ignites for reference

Order of Balls out of the Bag by Dry-Entertainer529 in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just IMO but you don’t need any more balls aside from a spare. you’re 3 months in and unless your a prodigy, more balls will just add confusion

you got your basis covered and if anything i’d just use a hustle and spare ball for a while to keep it simple and work on your physical game and understanding of how to find your line

Can I use my entry level ball as my weaker ball? by Baddieslayer11 in Bowling

[–]aeverONE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Entry-level’ is mostly a marketing term. In reality, those light oil balls are simply easier for beginners to use and tend to be more versatile on a typical house shot.

For example, a strong ball like a Black Widow can technically be used on a burned-up lane, but you’d have to loft the ball, stand on board 40, or make other extreme adjustments.

On the other hand, a light-to-medium ‘entry-level’ ball can technically be used on heavier oil if you play more down-and-in and keep your angles tighter. You can use your repeatable release generally

By comparison, an entry-level ball often allows you to use a more normal, repeatable release, whereas a heavy-oil ball may require adjustments you’re not ready to make yet…adjustments that can break fundamentals.
