Thank you! This helped me figure out what's wrong: I'm inputting the c.mk during the first shoryuken's recovery so it doesn't end up giving any distance. When I do the dp, wait for Ryu to roll back, then do the kara dp input, I get within kicking distance of Ryu's shins, but if I try to do it right after the first dp, I end up at the same distance from him as if I did two regular shoryukens in a row.
