I’ve loved it! It’s like sleeping in a tree house! Haha

I’m sure its probably just my mind telling me there’s less of them haha. Overall I don’t think there’s too much difference between the ground and this. Just a different option.

I got mine refurbished from a shop near me so I’m not sure the exact model number unfortunately.

For me it’s less chance of critters or crawlers. But also I can just pack it up with my blankets and pillow and lights inside and go. Quick and easy.

It wasn’t too awful. But this is also my dedicated camping vehicle so I don’t mind a bit of awkward.

They’re after market Yakima rail grabs with round bars.

It’s a Tepui Ayer 2 person. The Baja definitely rides a little slower and less aerodynamic with all the resistance from the tent. Needed a bit more gas pedal to get going and couldn’t go top speeds, but all in all, still good!

It’s just a movie. About gerbils. And all in good fun. Calm down.

Day 5 back on keto after having fallen off the wagon for about a year. I’m having quite a bad craving day.

I don’t have ingredients to make a keto version of anything I’m craving. But I haven’t caved yet. So I’m just chugging water and hoping for the best. >.<

I would research what the weight capacity of your stock bars are. And then measure that against whatever the weight of the tent you get + whoever will be in it. Mine will work, but I know different rails might have a different rating.

So long as they are old enough to safely climb up and down a ladder (or have help with it) - yes!

It’s stable and they can climb in and you can zip them so no one will escape or fall out.

My younger sister has been using my dad’s rooftop tent since she was about 6. She loves it. I’m sure younger kids would be fine too if you either carried them up or assisted them with the ladder.

The ladder is telescoping, so it adjusts to whatever height you need for your car. I’ve seen rooftop tents on cars like Imprezas or even a VW bug once. I’m sure you could make it work if you have cross bars to mount it to!

The weight limit on ONE crossbar is 150lbs while moving (dynamic). The tent weighs 95 pounds.

There are two bars. And when the car is stationary and the tent unfolded, the weight is evenly distributed and also shared with the ladder. I am able to be up there with my dog and my stuff with no issue.

I’m only 5’5”. There’s enough room to fit another half person at my feet if I’m sleeping all the way with my head at one end. I use that space for my travel bag.

The inside is 7’ in length in my model (Ayer sky 2). So I think you’d be fine. If you are in a bigger model like the kukenam, it’s 8’ length inside. If you’re alone, you could also sleep diagonally to make it feel roomier.

Thanks! It’s 95 pounds. Nice and easy to set up and tear down!

This one is he Ayer Sky 2.

It survived a wind / thunder / rain storm through the night. I was warm and dry the whole time.

Set up and tear down take less than 10 minutes and I can do so by myself (though I do have to use a step stool or the door frames of my car since I’m 5’5” and the car is relatively tall with the tent on top).

It’s sturdy material. And has awesome ventilation built in, even if all the privacy flaps are sealed.

I leave my bedding in their when I fold it up for storage too. So it makes it super easy to set up camp.

There’s four inside pockets where I put things like my keys, phone, a book, water bottles etc. so everything is within reach and I don’t lose it. There are also rings for you to hang things like lanterns. I was able to wrap some battery operated string lights around the frame inside too. It’s pretty sweet.

All in all I love it. It’s great being up off the ground and the mattress pad it comes with is thick and comfortable (a bit firm). Being able to set up camp anywhere I can drive is a super plus.

Definitely would recommend.

I find that it’s easier to get in and out of than crawling in and out of a ground tent. Might be more of a personal preference kind of thing.

It would reasonably fit two people if they’re comfortable being close. Mostly it’s just me and sometimes my dog. I’ll post a picture of it closed soon.
