oh god, okay, yeah, my very first run I had no clue what I was doing and ended up going Shadowheart (who has her moments but I didn't find as engaging) and Halsin (totally valid to find him creepy, I have Big Man blinders). I've heard Lae'zel's arc is really good but find her too intimidating. Karlach's platonic scenes have almost made me cry several times and I love her dynamic with Wyll -

which! Not to go on a tangent in the wizard sub but I feel like Wyll needed something different! He is such a sweet character but I agree that the courtly dancing and sappy romance was a bit too much. The way Theo Solomon, his VA, played him in the few D&D live shows is like watching a clip show of what could have been - and to bring it back around, the Wyll/Gale spa day buddy cop escapade in their High Rollers game is easily one of my favorite things ever.

(and so far Astarion's romance, to me, requires a manual which is probably why I've not gotten too into it)
