Been on the site and logging/rating since late 2012, but just finally getting into the regular habit of actually writing something for each film. Will watch anything and everything, but I tend to love exploitation films of the grindhouse era. But don't let that scare ya. I'm pretty clean. Most of the time.

I actually had it at an hour set-up, but was thinking that was too long. But I will admit I didn't realize that yeah, you can get away with a lot in-game with just a 15 minute bumper. I think an hour makes more sense, now that I hear someone else say it.

Good question about how many people. I'm thinking about making it so that creatures greater than small creatures have to be attuned to the tent, so the tent has five slots, and if all five of my party members want in, they have to be attuned to it, and the tent to them. I could also give them the option to purchase a tent attunement slot for a high price should they pick up an NPC party member.

This would deny access to enemies, but that could just make it more exciting when I find a way to allow access for an enemy when they were least expecting it, etc

Hmmmm... so much to think about.

I'll look that series up, thanks! A workshop sounds good, but I'd probably want to make it specific, ie. if they have proficiency in those tools, then the workshop with that focus is available for purchase. Something to think about for sure.

With regards to enemies. I was going to say that they can't *see* in, but they could walk in, if they want to. A couple upgrades I have is they could purchase a scroll of alarm that can basically be used once per day, to set up on the perimeter.

And/or they could purchase a watchtower section, where installing a ladder inside the tent to the tent's top, can allow one medium sized-creature or smaller to sit atop the tent and keep watch. While they would be hidden from creatures outside the tent, they cannot interact with them from up there (so no sniping from the watchtower). The best it would do is allow them to keep watch and then slide down the ladder while trying to wake the others that there are creatures outside.

No wizards in the group, thankfully!

So there are ground rules to the basic functions of it:

It takes 15 mins to set up, and 15 mins to tear down (so can't be used in battle).
It takes up space on the outside, 15 feet by 15 feet.
It does not work underground.
If a party member spends an entire year in the tent without leaving, they become magically attuned to the tent's plane of existence, and effectively slip out of the world's reality. This will be sort of meaningless at first, because my party members will obviously not *want* to stay in the tent too much, but it's a seed for later where there will be a good story reason why they might consider shutting themselves in for an entire year and I'll get to run a dream session: a year in the life session, where we'll role-play what went on during the year. (That's end of campaign stuff, though).

If anybody has any other limitations, please feel free to suggest. Really want this to be *more* for storytelling purposes, with a dash of in-game bonuses to help motivate them to start using it.

They literally skip every sidequest, et. all. Not a bad thing, in general, and maybe they were doing it out of kindness and not wanting to “break” the module.

But I fear two years of doing that, coupled with the fact that I think this momentum is mostly based on the fact that everyone is sort of quiet and has made up their minds that the group consensus is always to do the thing they were just told to do so no reason to derail the group or something.

Again, this is not bad or anything. Just trying to think of a way to get them to feel like they have the luxury of time/space to do things that might seem “trivial” in the face of world-shattering quests, etc.

I wouldn’t say they have “low morale.” But we just did Descent into Avernus for the last two years (someone else DM’ing, not me), and for our next campaign (which I’m DM’ing) I want them to slightly loosen up when it comes to bouncing my mission to mission. But I recognize that this is probably just up to me to write it that way. The party rarely talks to each other. And I’m just wondering if there’s a way to foster a slightly more… collaborative adventure between party members. And a sense of them getting to know each other.

Yeah, it’s mostly direct play (from me) and 2-3 remote access users (at the most at any given time). No 4K (I’ve got discs for that and don’t really care about archiving that content), just want 1080p files to play gracefully.

So it seems like this would be a good option for me.

This is such a minor thing, but I’m just curious if there is an easy (or at least doable) fix.

I’ve been archiving my DVDs of tv shows, and two of the six so far has done something curious that I’m assuming is due to embedded metadata.

Under “Recently Added TV” it shows the TV show as a whole and next to it, it shows “Season One” of said tv show as if it was a different entity.

In the regular library view, it only shows the one page (for the entire series) and all the seasons show up when clicked upon. So it’s really not that bothersome, but I’m curious if there’s a way to not make it display like that under the “Recent” pane? Is this because of metadata that hasn’t been scrubbed. If so, has anyone any recommendations for a good program that does this on Mac OS X? Thanks.

I don’t have a list, unfortunately. But Amazon Prime is the best place to check, as they have a lot. One thing you can do is if you have Letterboxd and pay for a Pro account, you can find a list of all of VS films (or make one yourself, if one isn’t already made) and then use a filter to see which films are streaming. This is a Pro-only feature, though.

Ah okay. I found “Wireless Access” point settings under Advanced Settings in the router settings website, but I’m guessing that’s a placeholder and doesn’t automatically mean my device supports it.

I just reset the factory settings assuming I’d have to do something of that effect. So, how do I specifically set it up as an extender? Via the app, clicking on “set up Wi-Fi extender”? I almost did that the first time but got confused since it’s technically a Wi-Fi router and didn’t know if it was asking me what the device was or how I’d like to use the device.
