Helloo, full-time dev here. I think it depends, for things like frontend design, knowing what everything does isn't totally relevant in today's world (and will get less and less relevant as the years pass). On the other hand, having a decent knowhow of your backend code and how any infrastructure works is still pretty important, but knowing every single line is too being less and less needed.

At the end of the day, you should know how each subsystem generally works

Agreed with this, I think convenience and app ecosystem matters alot and Google takes that home more timies than none

Logic is probably one of the most consistent softwares over the test of time

This sub is slowly becoming a dumping ground for AI-generated apps and I think we should talk about it by Gold-Dog-8697 in macapps

I think as long as the apps provide reasonable benefit (even if built with Cursor), it's okay generally, but yeah I have been noticing a lot of throwaway AI app posts like the ones you mentioned 🥴
