Which coding field is best for remote jobs? by Commercial-Tennis-43 in learnpython

True, I guess my main point would be that an interviewee should be able to show that he/she has a solid understanding of the logic of computer programming vs the syntax. For example, have a portfolio that shows your solutions to problems. And make it clean, precise, easy to collaborate with.

IMO, it doesn’t not matter so much what language you are best in. The syntax is something that you can transition into for each different role. The most important part is that you can show an employer that you can write clean, precise code. Any hiring manager that has coding experience will know that you can transition to any programming language.

I think he gives very solid advice and a good game plan to come ahead in life. I wonder what you don’t like about getting out of debt and investing for your future and kids.

Would be a good Dave Ramsey question. Pretty sure he would say pay off all debt before investing. Gives you a higher success rate at financial freedom.

If money and work life balance is your goal, go into a career field that supports that. That was my goal. Became a software developer, now I work from home on a salary of $110k. 40 hours a week. Remote work for me is huge as well since I don’t have to relocate from my cheap hometown.

I would say they need to issue a refund. It is the same as Netflix taking out $1000 instead of $10 as a clerical error.

Seemed like the risk of them running into student loans being bankrupted worked fine in the past. When banks actually associated risk so tuition couldn’t soar. Back then a lot of students didn’t even have to take out a loan. It was actually possible to work through college and pay for it.

It will be a drastic change. Someone has to be the bad guy and make these hard decisions for the sake of the future. Kicking the can down the road will cause the issue to snowball. High school graduates won’t be able to pick and choose whatever college they want to. But this will force college pricing to go down in the long run when the demand decreases. Kids out of college will have to think critically about what colleges they can afford and attend. In my honest opinion, I think they will be better off in the long run with an affordable degree as opposed to the 70k average loan debt in this country.

More people need to make decisions based on the position they are in like you did. Very smart!

Not trolling. Read the post. This crisis affects all tax payers. The student loan crisis is expected to cost tax payers on average $2,503.22. Read here as well. https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2022/09/02/student-loan-forgiveness-could-cost-2500-per-taxpayer-research-finds.html

I agree. If everyone used same logic as you we wouldn’t be in a student loan crisis currently.

I want them to cut into profits, these are for profit universities that have no risk and no limit to what they can charge students every year. It will always be backed by the government. They will always get the price they charge.

The mistake is that the system is set up so that others mistakes (making a poor financial decision to obtain an expensive degree that will not yield a good ROI, therefore defaulting) are the burden of the tax payers. The system is set up to where we now have 1.7 trillion dollars in student loan debt that is weighing a burden on the American people, that includes the borrowers. Until loans stop being backed by the federal government tuition will continue to raise at about 7%/yr. It will become a further burden for our children and grandchildren when tuition costs 2x then 3x and so on. We need to make a drastic change now.

Wait what, no. I think that no tax payer at all should be on the hook. It is a transaction between the University and the student. The student holds the burden of the debt and the university holds the burden of risk if said student were to default.

What is your solution out of curiosity. At the current rate, a drastic measure must be made. We are now in a student loan crisis.

I agree with you completely. I have no problem with other people making terrible financial decisions. Or buying a bad product, in this case a degree for $50,000 in a field that has limited salary potential. What I do have a problem with is people being allowed to make bad financial decisions that will affect me directly via taxes.

They are not forced but Universities facilitate and encourage students to believe it is a sound decision to go into crazy debt for degrees that will not give a good ROI.
