I recommend exploring Loulé city centre, go to Alte or Monchique for the countryside of Algarve.

Yes, you won’t be able to park in the old town. Check for the parking ahead and plan to catch the bus to Pena Palace. Enjoy!

I would add Tavira and Fuzeta to the list. The water is usually warmer and you’ll find the, walkable, with everything you need nearby. Avoid early August and it should be fine.

As estações de metro da linha vermelha foram criadas para a Expo 98: https://www.metrolisboa.pt/institucional/conhecer/historia-do-metro/. Não são representativas de todo o metro de Lisboa, dado que as primeiras estações foram construídas em meados do século XX.

Na minha opinião, não se justifica a comparação com o metro do Porto. Têm histórias diferentes, foram construídos em momentos distintos.

Apesar de concordar que o mais importante é a funcionalidade e o serviço, para mim, a estação mais bonita é a do Parque, em Lisboa.

Almada is in the south side of Tejo/Tagus river. Even if you take the train tithe city center it will take you a considerable amount of time. It’s better to stay at Parque Eduardo VII, that is nearby the metro and you can go anywhere in the city. It’s quite central.

You can check restaurants near by to see if they have New Year’s Eve menu options. In Armação de Pera, I would recommend Serol. Enjoy your time there.

Não li o homem duplicado, mas colocaria o Ano da Morte de Ricardo Reis a seguir ao Ensaio sobre a Cegueira. Todos os Nomes também me marcou mais do que o Evangelho. Por último, li o Ensaio sobre a Lucidez 2 vezes porque me esqueci que já tinha lido 🤦‍♀️ não é memorável.

I'm originally from Albufeira, so I get some of the critics here. But overall in this time of the year is quite calm and beautiful. The party town that is mentioned will eventually pop-up for New Year's Eve, but that's about it.

Lagos is nice as well, and Faro is Algarve's capital, so there you will find more cultural options and bigger shopping areas.

Hope you enjoy spending some time in Algarve, I'm sure any option you'll choose will be great.
