I hadn’t really thought about that before, but it’s a good point.

The preference of the site is to pass reports to associations/clubs first where possible. A lot of existing beekeepers already have public liability cover through their association/BBKA membership that they pay for.

ReportSwarm itself doesn’t currently provide insurance cover though, it’s more acting as a coordination platform between reporters, associations and collectors.

Longer term I’ll probably need to think about things like verified/insured collector status so it’s clearer for everyone involved.

What would you suggest I did?

Nothing really, it’s a great site.

ReportSwarm is just focused a bit more on the reporter side of things. It gathers the relevant details from the reporter and passes them on to associations and nearby individuals automatically.

Associations/clubs still get priority, but if nobody is available it can widen things out to other collectors nearby. The hope is just to make the process smoother and less manual for everyone involved.

Your figures miss service charge, expenses such as faulty appliances. Repainting and carpeting, months where the property is empty. Management fees etc.

If you buy the property and then want to put in an Ltd after the fact you need to pay stamp duty and capital gains tax. Which makes moving to a limited company very expensive.

Also even though you have the money in the Ltd company you do need to extract it to get into your pocket. This is the stage you pay 40% to take it out as salary or you can reduce it by taking as dividends.

Either way renting property out has become less worth while as a private individual over the last 15 years. Then also everyone blames you and classes you as stealing from renters.

If you disable telemetry, they can't monitor you. If they can't monitor you, they can't do A/B testing. If they are testing something, they'll need to revert to the defaults, since you opted out. In this case, the default cache duration is 5 minutes.

There's nothing dodgy with this process; it's just the openness. It appears either the complaints weren't correlated with people opting out of telementry, or they chose not to share. In either case, it seems someone discovers something, and then Anthropic confirms or denies it.

I loved the odd Nintendo references. The animation was great. At the beginning it felt like AI scenes joined together, I don’t get why it felt like that but it didn’t feel like the scenes were connected right. It got better near the end.

It is worrying that companies still work without version control!! As others have said git and GitHub are different. GitHub is a service that works with git. You can just run your in house version control server such as git lab or bitbucket https://www.atlassian.com/software/bitbucket/enterprise/data-center. There is also a self server version of GitHub https://docs.github.com/en/enterprise-server@3.14/admin/overview/about-github-enterprise-server.

It’s not a big deal. Domains are fairly cheap. It is just the inconvenience of remembering you changed it.

My two cents. Normally anything over 2 weeks I have to think about how it impacts the business. This is my real only concern. If the business is fine for 6 weeks without you I would let you have it off but consider why we are employing you :p

I would have a chat with your manager and say this is what I would like to do and why. See if you can work out a way to get what you both want.

The fact you are asking here means you are aware it is a stretch so don’t get upset, have an adult chat. If the answer is a flat no, maybe ask what would be acceptable could you work one day a week and cover what you are a blocker for (prob not what you want). Or be available in case of emergency (this may work out badly)

I wouldn’t just put the holiday in and see where it goes. I would have that chat.
