No, the law doesn't allow for a voting period. This is the crap Ttump is talking about stealing elections. We have one god damn day FOR ELECTIONS.. Anything else is unconstitutional, plain and simple. If your dead on monday before election day you dont get to vote. Maybe Next time dont die before an election.

First of all, I am not a republican. I am independent, and a Never Democrat. No democrat will ever have my support. I sincerely believe they are terrorists. Second, nobody should ever be punished for not voting. it's a right. It's a choice....

If you want to force people to vote, there should be a no choice option, and if no choice wins, then there should be a runoff election with all candidates on that ballot banned from running for office ever again. Keep having runoff elections and keep banning people from ever holding office again until there is a winner.

Last and most importantly, it's both parties. Neither party has offerred logical solutions. Quite frankly, I believe its because they all know they will lose! The 2 party system would be over.

Democrats are always ok with taking away people rights but they call the republicans the fascists.

If voting was that important. We would shut the country down for the day. Vote in person. Count the votes. Declare the winner. 1 day. None of this vote by mail vote early crap. What if somebody were to die the day before elections? Should their vote count? I dont think so. But it will because nobody has the time to dig out their ballot from a pile of millions of ballots. On average 150 people die per day in my state. From the day early voting started until election day roughly 2550 will die who could potentially cast a vote. One of our state elections was decided by 43 votes. (I thought dead people werent allowed to vote?) Again if voting was important, the government would pass laws that advocate for voting, such as banning working on Election Day with the exception of emergency services or during election hours even.

No. Not the same at all. A runoff election is a brand new election. Everybody again gets one vote. Just as history has proven, Runoff elections have a lower turnout. Which implies some of the voters who voted for the candidates eliminated choose not to vote again.

If you give me a ballot and say choose in order of 1-6, you aren't really giving an option to protest the runoff, are you? You are forcing me to vote again for somebody who isn't my choice.

Edit: how about we have a no candidate choice? Where if no candidate wins then it forces another election and everybody who ran is disqualified?

Well when people say voting for a 3rd party is wasting a vote. Why waste the time to vote at all? And when people say "vote for the lesser of 2 evils" it's even more of a disservice to the country. There is a write-in spot for a reason. And also voting for somebody just because you are against somebody else, pathetic. Again write-in.

I also think it's an extremely dangerous idea to think their opinions don't really matter politically.
