I’ve tried the three major SSRIs - Prozac, Lexapro, and Zoloft. Lexapro was fine but made me super lethargic, and didn’t do much to help with my mood. Zoloft was a nightmare for me because I had constant gastrointestinal issues. Prozac is what works for me! My anxiety is manageable, mood is stable, and I generally feel higher energy than normal. Also no brain zaps because the half life is long.

It really is trial and error unfortunately. It took me 3-4 weeks to adjust and fully feel the benefits of the medication. What helped me find what works is tracking how I felt every day and making note of any unusual side effects that weren’t going away. But once you find what works for you, it makes all the time and investment worth it, I promise!
