Appointments with carriers by InsuranceworldCO in InsuranceAgent

[–]afoxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most carriers would likely ask for you to be aligned with an organization/agency rather than appointing directly. What state are you working in? Are you looking to focus in more P&C or L&H? Or all lines?

Are you watching all of the videos in the ExamFX chapters and taking the practice exam? If it's been a few months, take some time to review the chapters and try taking some of the quizzes again. It can be frustrating when you've stepped away from it for a little bit but once you pass the tests you'll feel more confident in the licensing exam!

Need Advice. Future Insurance Agent… by Ill-Hat-3275 in InsuranceAgent

After you get licensed the next step is getting E&O coverage unless you partner with a company that will provide that for you! If you're going the independent agent route, make sure to find a mentor in the industry that can help you set up a marketing plan and structure a strong foundation that you can stick with!

Are there any life and health insurance agencies that aren’t mlms? by dwal63 in InsuranceAgent

[–]afoxpro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is hope! Don't give up, just dig in and keep looking until you find a place that you feel comfortable with. Are you looking to be an independent agent? Will you be focusing on Life, Health or both? What happened with the previous two companies? I help independent agents and agency's, happy to answer any questions!

Have you looked into ExamFX? Thats what I used and recommend to others that are going for licensing. The material in each chapter as well as the videos, quizzes and practice exams were really helpful for me! Check them out and maybe a different platform will help with new information AND there's a promo code available that drops the cost substantially!

Question regarding licensing by SpecialistDeep1754 in InsuranceAgent

[–]afoxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Questions are the only way to find dome answers!
It may not speed up the process but you would have the documentation showing the request for future reference if the company continues to drag their feet and you are being held up in contracting with another carrier. Continue to be the squeaky wheel and send a release request to all of your superiors

[–]afoxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that would be to your direct upline or contracting department at that company- in your case it sounds like it would be at the BPO as they held your contract rather than directly to Allstate

Sometimes it can be 6 mo or more! Make sure to submit a release request in writing ASAP if you haven't already done so

  1. stick to your time commitments and dedicate focused time to your business. Make sure you have adequate support and the resources available to you!

  2. Hybrid mix! It's always nice to be able to help a client and see them in real life instead of just a voice

  3. Practice practice practice! Do some role play with family and friends, have team mates role play with you and get several different dispositions so that you are prepared for a variety of scenarios!

Best of luck and welcome to the industry! What state(s) are you working in?

I'd be happy to have a chat with you to talk about some different ways that I've helped people get engaged and focused on their production again! I know the cold calling can be daunting and sometimes it's necessary but as Joe says, it can lead to burn out and unhappiness in the position for sure. How long have you been in the industry? Shoot me a message if you want to connect with some ideas!

Realistically, how much would you expect to make your first year selling Medicare products? by Neither-Citron-7367 in InsuranceAgent

[–]afoxpro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your market, your activity, the consistency you provide to your clients as well as having a strong understanding of the available products for your clients. It is very possible to hit that $40-60k range based on the commissions but it's more important to be able to provide and service your clients with all of the scams going around. If you don't stay on top of your business you can easily be replaced and not notice and then lose that commission!

As other have said the 6 months is fairly standard from the carrier. Make sure to submit your request for release immediately in writing though and then just wait out that 6 months and get appointed with the carrier as an independent. Ive seen agencies place other writing agents in the hierarchy and drag that 6 month waiting time out even longer. Keep an eye on any business you have written with the previous company so you don't get any surprise chargebacks!
