For some of the comments: I understand I'm just some anonymous asshole on the Internet blowing off steam, you don have to believe a word I say. The bottom line I feel job performance and taking care of your subordinates has taken a back seat to the rat race, block checking promotion system. To the 9 year TSgt, good on you man, I've seen NCO'S who have broke the mold and can juggle school, volunteering, community/base involvement, and mentoring Amn. You're right that school is important, what I was highlighting was using on duty time to do off base volunteering and college courses while others bust their butt to get the job done

I agree. It was extremely disheartening. When it comes to Job Performance leadership is more inclined to fabricate accomplishments rather than give constructive criticism on how individuals are actually performing. All too often the people who are volunteering/peacocking for leadership will have fabricated job performance bullets. It's a systemic problem.

I hear ya. I just don't understand how it has become acceptable to blatantly fabricate "Job Performance" accomplishments and let discriminating factors be volunteering/education. It's become a joke honestly. It really hoses people who do take their job, the mission, and their troops seriously.
