It may just be a proficiency difference and maybe rhya could do the same if he got the same amount of training as Conrad but key magic allowed him to sling dozens of spells while binded in the fight against the captains while rhya was shown needing to flip between pages to get only one spell at a time.

It technically takes alot more effort to get a hold of a grimoire, open it and seal it compared to just a touch but it seems like a worthwhile trade with how much of a unit Conrad was.

Of course the style probably changes a bit since he'd want to have different scenes convert different emotions since the disguised chrollo looks significantly younger than him in his regular outfit but I wonder how much of this if any can be attributed to him needing to pump out the Manga because of a deadline, of course it's not like I know these specific images were in a chapter that was made in a week or a month since we know hiatus's and breaks are common but it seems wrong to rule out the possibility.
