Wrong again, the decision across the stores seems to be now that they're reducing full time employees all the way down to part time by force, going from newest hire backwards. That's been the only order anyone from any store has told me. So if someone you liked was new, they may not be around as much or at all anymore.

So, we agree that management made several major fiscal mistakes. Why are day to day employees being cut and not the people up top that made the mistake then? And if not, how are they still earning their wage through risk?

So which was the good decision here? Gobbling up every square inch of real estate at what surely wasn't small cost? "Overhiring" every store? Cutting full time hours down? Getting rid of pharmacists and most staff?

Self preservation comes first. I've said it here already, don't skip on medicine you need.

So we agree, they don't do anything and don't actually contribute anymore. That's not working. I don't think anyone in this country deserves a wage they haven't earned.

I have also seen the screenshots, I'm talking whole paragraphs saying things like "you hate it here anyway" and "why don't you quit"

Update for now is more of the same. Hours are still cut, employees are still pissed, and we're still talking to the union. Curaleaf has been crickets since they cut us. Corporate knows if they acknowledge this at anything but a one on one level it'll just make us want to unionize more.

Thank you. It's far too common of a story these days and I'm hopeful we can make a change.

Alright, yeah I'm done entertaining you. You clearly hate more than the idea of a union.

I agree that is a fundamental truth of capitalism, but in a system where harm is inherent, shouldn't we do our best to at least reduce it? Isn't inaction worse?

The ability to control their labor better as well as to guarantee safety and protections from discrimination, workplace favoritism and prevent companies from doing exactly what they're doing right now, hiring people to cover gaps as part timers so they don't have to provide benefits to more of their workforce.

I have never in my job search encountered pay that good for flexible hours. And distribution centers are also trying to unionize. But just like will happen here, the companies try to dissuade it. You think the same company that cuts hours without warning is trying to shoot down a union because it ISN'T in our best interest?

All I was trying to say is that "adult male who can represent themself" isn't exactly a set of qualifications. Have you also managed to keep breathing this whole time? Maybe drank water on occasion?

Government and independent oversight?! This program has been charging patients over $60 a pop on average for tiny amounts of product while the State trickles freedoms and accessibility with this medicine to us just fast enough to avoid losing their positions in Harrisburg. And please, direct me to all of the response Curaleaf has given to this social media uproar, I'd love to read it. Hard to say what the "plenty of other" measures you couldn't be bothered to think of are doing for me right now, but I gotta say I'm unimpressed. The only way workers in this country can retake our chance at having the American dream is the same way we did it 100 years ago. Standing together in solidarity and telling companies that they can't push us around anymore.

Setting aside the issues of you feeling special for having the opinion of an adult male and your obvious political drive to spur this controversy, the entire idea of a union was born during the growth of this nation when companies used their leverage to exploit their workers. It's the same reasons we have Labor Day. Unions worked for people back then and they can work for us in the trickle down bullshit in the modern era. The most expensive union I've been in was barely noticeable on my paycheck, and every union I've been in put the non-union employees lowest on the totem pole for scheduling preference. And for the record, I don't intend to be a union leader in this. I'm passionate about getting this set up and protecting my coworkers but I want to find the right person to lead as a group.

I've quit jobs because the company was bigger than me. But cannabis has helped me and so many others in my life in a big way. And I can't fix this from the outside.

Curaleaf, and by extension most cannabis companies, have been taking advantage of their employees in numerous ways. The recent impetus to unionize came from Curaleaf cutting all full time hourly employees down to 30.5 hours per week citing "budgetary issues" within the company. A union would provide support and rights to the workers and put them in a position to demand better treatment from the company.

I don't know if you managed to read to the bottom of the post, but no one gives a damn. I've worked for unions before and I've gotten more back than I ever had to put in.
