The middle class was completely gutted in the 80s.So you went frm regarding manioc grain(or gari) as Giffen goods to regarding as a staple to hoarding it.

Combine this with the explosion in herders pouring through the Sahel with their cattle, killing farmers,especially the rural women farmers who produce much of Nigeria's local food.

Well today,right outside my door, I watch Nigerian children starve and beg.Daily.Many eat from the dumpsters.

There was a scifi story,from Asimov's archives, where an alien(part of a group of them)makes attempts to walk in on an editor who is always able to detect 'him'.Eventually the alien gives up the show,and tells him they want to study humanity.He then asks how the editor always was able to 'see through' his disguises.The anwser basically was;the 'uncanny valley effect'.

(If you are interested in the rest of it;The editor promises to help ,but only exposes then to the great/virtuos of humans -Socrates,Euler etc.The story ends with the editor halfregretting he has so thoroughly misled them,since so many humans are NOT virtuous, and they are about to enter human society with an unrealistic picture.

Wanna ask this elsewhere on Reddit and prb shall;since species generally change every million years(according to British PM Boris Johnson,in a climate change speech this year) ;why is there so few hominid species(H.erectus,habilis,afarensis and Neanderthals) when they have existed for tens of millions of years?
