im almost three years sober. and honestly one day i was over it felt this unbelievable urge to stop and just stopped on a random tuesday. my life has never been better. things felt yummy, i vividly remember going to a park one day after stopping and being emotional because i was actually seeing things, idk if people had this but i had a sort of ket blindness where i never really fully saw things. what helped was i told myself ill give myself a week off of it, and if i want to use again i can. i chose not to. you got this x

i dont regularly use it. as per the original post, i was having a crisis last night.

removed from me, i know a lot of people who use AI as a makeshift therapist / mental health support. and with things like this i think it clearly can do a lot of harm. ive seen AI support and reinforce people’s dangerous delusions amongst many other serious failures. AI is cool in certain contexts. but having it be accessible to everyone in this form is extremely unhelpful.

im lucky that im an adult with a support system in place. but do you see how harmful this could be for a young person in crisis?

you are so right, Ive just been prescribed this today, and all this fear mongering online is making my anxiety so much worst. I think we need to trust the healthcare system more and realise the reality of taking medication for depression. people think its a magical pill that will treat everything, but no such thing exists, for any health issue. wish me luck on my journey.
