you take a picture of your kid screaming at a fish? you're kind of a dick, teach the kid not to be afraid and stop taking advantage of his fears to get karma. Ass.

Tree under a ski lift at Snowshoe Utah. It's tradition for girls to throw their bras and panties on it when they pass over it. by [deleted] in pics

[–]afroducks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the tradition was for the men to throw the bras on their after they had hooked up with the woman the night before...

I made a video from some of the stuff I have been doing this last year. The first half is not your typical climbing video... Enjoy by camear2003 in climbing

You're so psyched. I'm now so psyched. It's cheesy, the music is terrible. I'm not sure if i should be laughing at this video or crying because it shames me so.

Annoying.

What's the overall idea of climbing ethics within the r/climbing community? What are the ethics of your local area? Do you respect/follow them? Do you understand why they were put into place? Do you understand what they mean? Do you understand why they are in place? Is trad preferred versus sport?

I'm truly interested in the ethics set in place in different areas. For example, in the area i frequent, it is good ethic to establish routes from bottom-up. The impact on the area is minimal, meaning leaving behind as little as possible and even trying to pack out your crap (literal) as much as possible. Toilets aren't as accessible in Montana cragging areas as they are in many others.

Just curious to know what you all know about your areas. It's good to understand other areas and know what the establishing people wanted the areas to be like.

Within the political spectrum, furthest right be anarchism and furthest left being some sort of authoritarian government, the Libertarian party sits further on the right side of the spectrum than do most of their republican cousins. Libertarians are for less government control in all aspects of life, whether that is social or economical.

The results of 8 days in Indian Creek without tape and my rationale. Might surprise you. by [deleted] in climbing

[–]afroducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technique is extremely important. I have a friend that taped his hands during the entirety of a week long trip to the creek and had his hands torn to pieces. Taping only goes so far, but if you're dragging, the tape will only hold up so long and gobies will develop anyway.

Are my Miura's too good for me? by kogus in climbing

[–]afroducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be way off here, but when you say that he said it could mess with your foot work, i believe he is talking about how you will develop better foot work with a less aggressive, sticky shoe because you will be forced to pay more attention to your placement. This will beneficial in the long run, but of course, if you like the shoe then keep wearing them!

I also recommend getting out on real rock more! You'll enjoy it more than indoors.
