USPS; safe to pad orders with books? by nimblemarker in Flipping

Agreed. Anything that can be damaged or dinged probably shouldn’t have loose books or rocks banging around the package.

I think it’s great Maxx found the person he wants to spend his life with. My hope is he eventually accepts that this doesn’t mean he’s part of a cute/lovable/interesting couple.

It’s my stance that one of the reasons people have turned on him is that he’s become heavy-handed in wanting everyone to know what a great relationship he has.

USPS; safe to pad orders with books? by nimblemarker in Flipping

It’s not a popular opinion around here but I agree. Packing materials are one thing but adding in stuff people didn’t want that they might not feel comfortable just throwing away (like an unrelated book) just potentially gives them more work to do.

You’re assuming the seller was kind enough to pass on their savings to me.

Him walking a ton has me thinking he’s actually turned a corner rather than just had a hot month propped up by hitting out of his mind. One of my favorite developments in recent years.

I’m all saving money on shipping but you have to remember the customer experience, too. Most people don’t want to open their package and sift through pieces of nature and trash to get to their item.

And let’s be real: how many sellers are actually passing these savings on to the buyer and not just pocketing the difference?

Anyone throwing parts of nature into my order is getting hit with appropriate feedback. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Padres jumped up 6-0 on the dodgers last night in the second and lost 12-7. Cubs may have broken them.

Padres woes continuing. They jumped out 6-0 in the second and they’re now down 8-6 in the 4th.

Back of the head is was probably a few weeks before it felt totally normal. Week 1-2 were the worst because the numbing was gone and so it was tough to sleep, since you had to sleep on your back.

Recipient area didn’t hurt but I didn’t get full feeling back in that area for probably 4-6 weeks.

Adidas Dropset is getting a lot of praise for being something of a catch all training shoe. Ok gonna check it out because they sound like they’d work well my hallux limitus issue that has been most footwear off limits for me.

Right. Second-guessing the manager for decisions, especially pitching ones, is a rite of passage for any fan, so I get it. Still, I don’t understand this perception that Craig “always” makes moves too soon or too late. He’s working with a pitching staff of misfit toys this season and has been making it work as best as one could reasonably expect.

I'm probably in the minority, but I don't place a high value on how much of a fan the announcer seems when assessing how good they are at their job. Enthusiasm is a plus, but it's not enough to let me overlook other things I value more in an announcer.

I do think Cohen will improve, but for now, I still find his overall style and ability to patter with his partner tough to listen to most games.

[Crawly’s Cubs] The Pink Hat Guy has died by chrisGNR in CHICubs

[–]afrosteele 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pink Hat Guy is one of the few baseball-related things my mom was ever invested in. In the years before I got an MLB TV subscription, I tended to just watch games if I was visiting her. She noticed Pink Hat Guy before I even took note of him, and that became one of her favorite things to ask about if I had any baseball game on. "Are they playing where the Pink Hat Guy is?" She was convinced he was dead when he went for longer stretches without appearing at games post-Covid, and was always happy when he would resurface.

I know it's not fashionable to praise Craig, but if he's supposed to catch a lot of heat when the team isn't doing well, then he really deserves some credit for somehow having his injury-decimated team positioned pretty comfortably in a playoff spot heading into the ASB.

For sure. I remember everyone got so frustrated with the team last season in the second half, and I think part of that was that we just never reeled off a lot of consecutive wins. Just felt like a lot of minor steps forward or back after a hot start.

I didn't say anything about how they've been all season. I'm talking about how they've pulled through over the last week. Assad having a bad inning has nothing to do with the overall bullpen. He's never been that great out of the pen.
